One of the oldest operating restaurants in Amarillo. They check the boxes of all the things that I used to take for granted when eating out but rarely experience anymore - seated quickly, cleanliness, smiles, smiles, smiles from staff, fast and friendly service, getting the order right, checking on our table, filling our drinks, cleaning our table, knowledgeable wait staff, and the ticket was handled quickly and efficiently. We went on a busy Sunday afternoon and I watched in amazement as the staff still found time to clean the front glass and not only efficiently bus the table next to us but they cleaned the floor. My shoes didn't stick to the floor as I walked nor my forearms on the table. This place has been around since the early 80s and I expected that decade old grease build-up on everything but found no evidence of it. The fries were perfect! The beer selection was pretty good (they should bring in some local craft beers) and the burger was... Well it was pretty good (cooked and prepared perfectly). I think the buns might be Mrs. Bairds wheat buns or something similar. Maybe add a gourmet bun to the menu? I've had far better but at the expense of indifferent staff and having to degrease my body when I got home. I'll be giving all my extra (I really want a burger) money to Hummers...

I am a regular customer and have been for years. They usually have exceptional service, but the last two times it has been terrible. Last night was the worst ever. It took a waitress almost 2o minutes to come to our table when we arrived. Then it took about 10-15 minutes to get our drinks. Then we never saw our waitress again nor did anyone attend to us until we waved down another waitress. Then a different one comes and makes up a lame excuse for our first previous waitress that we watched just visiting with some people at another table for almost 30 minutes. We finally get our order in. About 15 minutes later we get our appetizer and the plates are stuck together with gum, yuck! They forget to bring out one item of an order. We had 4 different waitress and the manager wait on us. Couldn't drink my margarita, it had to much sweet and sour or something. The mushrooms were semi soggy. The mushrooms are usually my favorite. The place wasn't even busy....

Most of us had burgers. For the price, I'd recommend just staying home, fire up the grill, throw some patties on there, and forget about them. Come back when they look and taste like charcoal, then forget all the seasoning and sauce. That's the cheapest way to experience this food. I probably won't come back here. Way too overpriced for the quality of food. My bacon was burnt. The patty was flavorless other than that bitter charcoal flavor of burnt mean. The fries were soggy. One thing I will give them is that they were extremely busy, but that's not an excuse.

Edit/Reply: No, I did not ask for a manager. I don't do that. Get it right the first time. Plus, it was extremely busy and we had a large party. We all had the same experience. If our food was that way, I'm sure the whole restaurant was the same. This wasn't just a mistake, it was normal business. If it had only been mine, I would not have...

Update: I did ask for the sandwich to be corrected per the order. The returned sandwich was better, but then missing different ingredients. At this point, I gave up, ate it, and moved on with life. After all, it's just a sandwich. Hummers: I know times are tough right now. High inflation, hard to hire. But don't let this be how you die, in a downward spiral of mediocrity, having lost what made you. Hummers used to be very consistent and something you could count on. It. Never. Faultered. For decades. I don't know what happened - but this sandwich is broken in so many ways. It's a laughably little portion of chicken. The green chillies and chicken breast are dry and lifeless. It is missing ingredients from the order. The overall sandwich is uninspired to the point of beaten dead. I'm dead just having to write this. What happened Hummer's? Charge me $3 more for a product I want to eat. I promise to pay it.

I came here to watch the Michigan --TCU game. I had my service dog with me and when the rest of the crowd cheered for TCU it caused my dog to bark. The manager--who did a great job even though she was being pulled in 4 directions--placed my dog and I in a new party room they just opened. It worked out great for my dog. I ordered a Southwestern salad that fantastic. The only thing I would change if I was the chief would be to add more green's to mix in with the abundant add-ons. The atmosphere in their party room is very well done. They should be proud of a job well done.
