I love watching videos on YouTube about food from other countries, street food, high-class food, etc. And in this process I heard about Ethiopian cuisine, and how amazing it is.

Fast forward a few years, and I hear that an Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurant opened in Amarillo. I immediately wanted to try it. So eventually my roommate and I decided to get dinner here, and we were absolutely blown away by how amazing everything was. We got the meat combo for two, and we found ourselves tasting spices and flavor profiles that were completely new to us. It’s almost like Indian food, in some senses, but it’s very much its own thing. All I can really say is that you have to try the food. Their lentils are phenomenal. Their potatoes are too. The meat was super flavorful. Everything was so filling, authentic, and satisfying—not to mention super healthy. They also served us coffee after the meal, which was some of the best coffee we’ve ever had.

This place is an absolute gem in Amarillo, and we’re lucky to have something like this. I highly, highly recommend anyone reading this to go and give them a try. They deserve to be packed out...

IT.WAS.AMAZING!!!! I highly suggest you go! The menu clearly explains what you’re ordering but the sweetest lady talked to us and helped us decide for sure. We got a vegetable combo for one ( it has an amazing lentil dish, spinach dish and chickpea dish) and meat combo mild beef dish and spicy beef dish with a cabbage dish) for one. It comes on a tray lined with an amazing flat bread called injera ( you eat it!) as well as a basket of them to use as utensils. When I say the flavors were vibrant, I mean VIBRANT. So beautifully crafted and each dish completely different in flavor but addictive! When our chef/server found out that we like lamb she brought us a large sample of an amazing spicy lamb dish that we will be getting again. We also had coffee, hand roasted from green coffee beans, ground and brewed just for us. Served with turbinado sugar and insanely delicious. They also have a small market with spices, and limited but hard to find goods. And last but not least baklava!!! One of the best I’ve ever had! Today was the beginning of a devine relationship with amazing food made by the...

I love this place. I had just discovered it right before the pandemic hit so I only got here a couple times before they had to shut down with everybody else. When they reopened they didn't have the indoor dining but had expanded the market so I bought some food items and got some food to go. I don't really care for food to go much because I like to come in and sit down, relax and visit with the employees if they aren't busy, ask questions, get to know the place.

I can't necessarily remember the name of everything I've eaten here but everything has been absolutely delicious. I almost always get either a tea or a coffee because they aren't your average run of the mill tea and coffee but specialty items. They even roast the coffee beans before they make your coffee! The owner is so very nice and always makes you feel welcome whether it's your first time or repeat visit. The food is extremely flavorful without being hot spicy. The Teff injera is delicious. Yes, I highly...

A true taste of home! Marhaba Eritrean and Ethiopian Cuisine and Market is a hidden gem and a comforting slice of East Africa right in the heart of Texas. From the moment you walk in, the warm hospitality make you feel like you're back home. The injera is fresh and perfectly tangy, and the variety of dishes—from doro wot to tsebhi—are rich in flavor and authenticity. You can tell the food is made with love. The market is also well-stocked with hard-to-find ingredients and cultural items. Whether you're Habesha or just love bold, flavorful food, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

I've been wanting to try this place as this food tends to be very friendly to healthy and veg dishes. I was not disappointed and it has taken years since the first and my last experience in an Ethiopian restaurant and I couldn't wait and it all delivered! I hope to return again and again... Only concern was the extremely slow and unattentive service. The lady was nice enough....but kept disappearing into the kitchen where more staff sounded like socializing and chatting and took forever in between visits. Seriously seemed like a half hour between visits.
