We chose this location for our daughters 21st birthday. We had high expectations. Several days before the party we called and booked a table for dinner for 3 hours to eat, drink, & watch the band. Day of, we arrived about 30 minutes early. We were told they sold out of the dance floor tables... Ok strike one. We get taken back to the dinning area. Nice area, very pretty. Our party sits down. The area is dimmly lit, the couches are so low the ladies would have a hard time eating dinner when it arrives later. So after we are seated we waiting right at 12 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Our waitress finally arrived. She took our drink order. The two issues that happened here are: one of us ordered a draft beer of a certain brand. It came out in a bottle and was the wrong brand. Someone ordered a sweet tea, it came out unsweetened. The person that delivered the drinks was not our waitress. We told them the beer was wrong. She said she would tell our waitress. We didn't see the waitress again for several minutes,7-8. Waitress finally showed up. Told her the beer was wrong. This time she brought the right brand beer but still in a bottle when we asked for draft. Ok whatever just drink it. About 35 minutes in and we finally get asked to order food. Great I'm hungry I've looked at the menu and I'd like a chicken fry. Waitress asks for the order. My wife orders hers and asks for ketchup for her fries. I order and ask for chicken fry, waitress says, sorry we sold out an hour ago. Well hell why didn't you tell me that when we sat down. Everyone orders, I ask for more time because I literally have no idea. Waitress comes back 10 minutes later. I have the catfish and add a side salad. Order is placed but we're out of drinks, drinks arrived a while later. Salad comes out, can I have salt and pepper because it's not on your table. No exaggerating. 15 minutes later the salt and pepper show up after my wife had to go find someone to get it to us. Food shows up, food was pretty decent, the one extra thing my wife asked for was ketchup , it didn't arrive. I ask the waitress, she says I'll be right back with it. At this point I'm pissed cause the service sucks, we can't get refills, it's so dark you can't see anything. We start to eat, we try to order more drinks, same thing we've been drinking all night, now the drinks get messed up. Strikes 2,3,&4. We are done eating at this point and the waitress shows up with a little metal cup of ketchup.... Sorry honey, someone took our plates away 5 minutes ago. Bring me my ticket.
Overall we picked the wrong place, the food is ok to moderately good. The drinks .... Where's the alcohol because the girls in our party that night are lightweights and they were not even buzzed. The ambience was nice, to dark for my taste, we didn't get set where we had reserved. The staff and service was pitiful and pathetic. I can literally get better service at Whataburger. We planned on being there a majority of the night and happily would have spent a bunch of money. 1 hour and 45 minutes later we left and went to par3 where we had a much better time and had way...
Read moreThis restaurant has a lot of potential.. but the waitress was unprofessional. I understand it was a slow night but for spending 400+ dollars on four people... you can do better! We came in recently and...
She asked us at least 5 times in a matter of 10 minutes if we were ready to order entrees... while we were still waiting to get drinks and apps.
She messed up our sides.
She was too busy showing the bartender videos on her phone in the well.
When asked if she was trying to get us out so she could leave, she said, "yes". At least she was honest, but after that, we paid and immediately left. It was late but not closed.
Facing the bar, I could see we weren't a priority. She sat on her phone and with the bartender moving at a snails pace, by the time the drinks arrived we were already finished with our meals. Literally, it took from the time the food was dropped until after we finished. It was a disappointment for a restaurant of this level.
Our drinks took so long because she was showing the bartender videos, and then she walked over to say her coworker, the bartender, "isn't very good."
She never brought us what we had asked for and what she offered when she dropped our food off. She never checked on us during our meal if I remember correctly!
Your bartender, rather large guy, he had zero desire to make our drinks or move fast. I understand craft drinks take time, but empty restaurant and nothing else to do?
In conclusion, I believe you have young individuals who lack the professionalism and training required to propel this type of setting you have at this restaurant. Your waitress had the service of an applebees or chilis. Your restaurant is already out of the way. So to come and have to deal with lazy service is why I will choose a closer restaurant next time and more than likely not return. The food was good, although the steaks were a little overcooked. I think your staff needs better leadership and a manager, unlike the one you had present that will hold them to a higher standard. In this small town, what sets you apart? I can easily go to another restaurant for a steak just as good. So what else does Western Horseman have to offer when service is absolute crap? People remember the way they're treated, and we'll remember this the next time we decide on a...
Read moreI brought my son here last year for spring break we decided to try the Tomahawk steak. It’s was so good, we decided to make it a tradition. Came back this year the service was not great. Our waitress did make a comment on her own that our food was taking to long and she would let her boss know(I did appreciate her noticing that on her own) when our steak came we started on one end was ok good med rare as ordered but not as tender as before. Once my son cut into the tip he said part is really rare. I offered to eat that portion as I’m ok with rare.but when he passed it to me it was less then rare and even I couldn’t eat it. We then cut the rest of the steak way more than half of it was bloody and we couldn’t eat it. WW told our server then waited 20 minutes for the manager to offer to put our $125.00 cut apart steak back on the grill, I sad I think we are done. Waited another long time and they offered to take half off. When I said that’s not good we ate way less then half of it no other offer was made by this time I was so irritated I just paid the bill but will never be back! I understand things go wrong and restaurants have off nights but when it happens take care of the customer or you’ll lose customers like you lost us.
UPDATE: after my review I noticed a trend this establishment NEVER apologizes to guests that are unhappy. With most of their negative reviews they blame it on the customer it shows a general attitude towards the public basically the attitude is people are stupid, fake or just wrong. Do yourself a favor before dining here read the reviews but pay more attention to the way the owner generally replies to them, never an apology for the bad experience just minimize the issue and basically let the customer know they don’t know what they are talking about and everything is always fine here. As a restaurant looking to improve and grow you should take negative reviews as an opportunity to learn and become even better instead of discounting your customer’s opinion. I found the same to be true with negative reviews with the other two restaurants under the same ownership. Check it out for yourself, some of the responses are down right insulting to...
