I used to come to this bar several years ago and it was always a great time. I stopped going for some time just due to it not being my local bar anymore. I recently had multiple horrible experiences where I showed up around dinner time on a weekday and everyone was already plastered drunk. There was a man that took a drink from my hand and I told the bartender about it. She gave me a new drink but charged me for it. (She should’ve kicked the guy out) Mind you, I had only had 1-2 drinks at this point. The night went on and the bartender was obviously over pouring everyone in there. It got to the point where I was over served and honestly everyone should have been cut off due to fights happening between men, people being disrespectful, and me having to order an “angel shot” because of how uncomfortable an individual made me feel. Which by the way, I was never offered any kind of safety I ended up walking outside and ubering home. I felt extremely unsafe. The bar itself really should loose their licensing for serving belligerently drunk individuals. I’ve seen recent reviews of people who didn’t have a good experience and were banned from returning to the location. The owner is a horrible human being who only cares about himself and it seems more of a bar for creepy old men that seem to already be drunk before walking in. This has happened to me on multiple occasions recently. And why did I keep going? I just wanted to give it a chance as I thought it was a one off situation. NOPE. This also doesn’t include how they change the prices of their drinks throughout the night so by the end of the night, you’re stuck with a massive bill without a breakdown of what drinks were ordered. It’s unprofessional, I’ve seen individuals take their drinks outside through the back which is ILLEGAL and with no repercussions. I will NEVER return to this bar and I will be posting on community pages to spread awareness. I was overcharged the last time I was there as I only had a few drinks. I paid for 1 shot and a cocktail, asked what the price was for both, the bartender said it would be $10 and I was charged $18 with some change which was NOT on the receipt and only found out when I checked my account. They are untrustworthy, the place smells like a dump, it looks like a dump, and there needs to be some sort of assessment about the legality and licenses they have. Having my bartending license myself, they have broken many rules. It is unsafe, they scam you out of your money, and it is extremely sad to want to come in for a couple of drinks and have to deal with a bunch of drunk old men which is the bartenders responsibility. Again, I will never be returning to this dump of a place. And will happily support my local bars which does NOT include La Sabre. I would give this place NEGATIVE...
Read moreI’ve been attending karaoke nights at La Sabre for about a year and have generally enjoyed the lively atmosphere and friendly staff. It’s a place I’ve looked forward to visiting, and I appreciate the effort the team puts into creating a fun environment. However, I feel compelled to share some deeply concerning experiences involving a family member of the owner, Al, and his friends.
On multiple occasions, I’ve felt uncomfortable and unsafe due to inappropriate behavior from Al. I’ve also witnessed similar behavior directed toward other women, and several individuals have shared their own unsettling experiences with me, which closely mirror mine. Despite being previously banned from the bar due to such conduct, Al has since returned, and the problematic behavior has persisted. Most recently, during a visit, Al was observed by the entire bar yelling and shouting at me after I intervened to prevent him from harassing another woman. Additionally, friends of Al’s have made highly disturbing “jokes” about spiking my drinks, which is not only tasteless but also deeply alarming, especially given the context of my prior experiences.
While I don’t want to discourage anyone from supporting the bar—it has a lot of potential and many positive qualities—I feel it’s important to urge female patrons to exercise caution, particularly when interacting with these individuals. Always keep an eye on your drinks and trust your instincts if something feels off.
I truly hope the management takes these concerns seriously and addresses the issue to ensure the safety and comfort of all patrons. Until then, I’ll be reconsidering whether this is a safe environment for me and my friends.
UPDATE: An hour after posting this review, I was permanently banned from La Sabre via a Facebook Messenger message with no explanation. This decision feels retaliatory and only reinforces my concerns about how the establishment handles criticism and accountability. I stand by my original review and believe it’s important for others to be aware of...
Read moreThe bar tender was friendly, however this place was so small and we came for their “Halloween party” all the tables were full by 8 o clock with their regulars the bar top was full. There isn’t much standing room so we were constantly in the way, only one of the pool tables was being used and seemed like they could do without the second one to have more table room. Some of the regulars were friendly but alot of them gave “why are you here” looks and vibes and some caught attitudes that we were standing in the way - like that’s our fault. Their guests attitudes are no fault of this bars own I just believe that if you aren’t already a regular here then don’t bother going, cause there either won’t be enough room or the regulars won’t want you there. We left...
