I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Clouds. I saw an ad on Facebook for a Cars themed breakfast and was super excited to take my 2 year old son as he is obsessed with Lightening McQueen currently. I bought tickets for our family of 3 that were $50+ for ābreakfastā. Excited, my family and I showed up 10 minutes before the event (event to start at 9:30am) was to start only to wait with the other families outside of Clouds doors for at least 10 minutes after the event was to start. I kept telling my husband it doesnāt even look like the lights are on or anyone is inside. Once seated, I looked around and besides a few pieces of paper confetti on our table there was no other decorations that went along with the theme. If I had not specifically bought tickets for a Cars themed breakfast, I would not have known there was an event. Forty minutes later we received our drinks that we had to pay extra for which was fine as I knew that ahead of time. With the price of the ticket though and what we got, a basic drink should have been included. My husband tried to order a dirty Dr Pepper which he saw on their menu to be told they donāt make them at that time of day. At one point I looked over and the three employees were all working on the same drink as if they had no idea how to make it. A small board of cheese and crackers came that was nothing special. Trivia included a gal asking us a few simple questions on the Cars movie. Okay, fine. Then at 10:40, we were served ābreakfastā. This was an hour after the event started. My idea of breakfast and their idea of breakfast must be VERY different. We received a tiered platter for the three of us that had desserts (seemed to be dethawed out of the freezer) that honestly sucked and had zero flavor, cup of fruit, 1 cucumber sandwich divided in four bites. That was it.
Three gals that were there working seemed extremely disinterested or unenthused. The only word my husband and I could sum up our experience with was cringey. It was so bad, it was cringey. My suggestion is donāt put on āthemed eventsā if you arenāt actually going to decorate or do any type of activity and if you do not have enough staff or staff thatās totally engaged in the event. I also suggest you change how you advertise the events or decrease your price as what we received was no where close to the price we paid.
Also, I want to add that there was a family there that drove 3 hours to come to this āeventā while we drove an hour. The advertising for the event made it sound like it was going to be a very fun time. It was not.
Normally Iām not one to write reviews but I do not want other families to have to go through the same cringey experience.
VERY falsely advertised event. VERY...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband took me out for brunch on Sunday to Cloud in Ames. The company and view were good, the food, not so much... He got the triple chocolate-covered waffles as well as an apple turnover. I got cheddar bacon waffles and a Strawberry Chai latte. There were only a couple of people there in the restaurant. After waiting over a half hour without even getting drinks, he walked over and glanced down at the counter and workers, we had decided to sit on the upper floor. He saw some frozen Eggo waffles sitting in the toaster, just waiting for someone to do something with. That is definitely not what we expected when we ordered waffles at a restaurant/cafe. He sat back down with me. After a bit, he went back and looked again and they had made it to a plate and then left for who knows how long! Another worker talking to patrons upstairs heard him saying something to me and said she'd check on the order. Shortly after that, our food was ready. All of it was cold, including the Chai Latte. There went $40 for poorly prepared & frozen food I could have whipped up at home. We left, went to Provisions Lot F, and had a second brunch... š Which was much better!! The best part was we had a good time together just hanging out and chatting with a beautiful skyline...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWHERE TO BEGIN. Do not waste your money on this. My husband, myself and my son went to the paw patrol themed ābrunchā. First of all, the tickets are pricey for what is provided. What we thought was going to be a grand experience was nothing more than a couple of colored streamers, and some table glitter with a single tiny sheet of stickers that fit their so called āthemeā. Drinks are NOT included in your ticket cost, which by the way, for two adults and a 3 year old equaled $74.00. For that money you would think at least one drink would be included. Secondly, The ābunchā or ābreakfastā is basically bulk bought desserts from Costco. And that is it. Dessert for breakfast, for a bunch of kids. At the start of the āexperienceā they asks about 15 trivia questions and then gave us our dessertsā¦that was it. They also brought in a dog dressed up as a character. Which I found gross, why is there a dog in a place where food and drink are served. All in all, HUGE waste of money. This is hyped up beyond what is provided and the bad reviews you see are absolutely legit. Donāt waste your time, money, effort. You could do something more special at home...
