Five Guys — Restaurant in Ames

Ordered from five guys last night. Clearly they didn't care about our order and completely disregarded what we ordered and just threw things together. It was so greasy my boyfriend wouldn't even eat it. Fries were the most soggy sub par fries I've ever had. Meat was flavorless and undercooked. It was almost like they passive aggressively put together our order? Seriously, it was like eating food from a high school cafeteria. We may have even preferred that to be honest.

I highly suggest going to the B-bops over by North Grand mall. 10 times better than anything you can get here for barely a quarter of the price, and the people there are super polite and nice.

They gave me a free shake the first time I went! Customer service is always exceptional. They offered to make me a whole 2nd regular Cajun fry when they forgot to add the Cajun seasoning to mine while the fries were still fresh from the deep fryer. Definitely a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and food quality. The managers are on top of it and cook your food fresh to order every time. Their shakes are some of the best in Ames. Peanut butter and chocolate is my go to.

I am a little upset Google doesn't have a "shake" option for 5 Guys as a "thing I bought" category.

My usual order runs me just over $30 with the tip. I don't know how people are making their 5 Guys trips cost under $20 per person, but imo...

First time ever in a five guys. A friend said let's eat here. I thought great I wanted to check it out. We walked in and stood in a short line. When it got to our turn the man behind the counter said it will be a little bit he had to help the young lady. Ok. Not a problem. 10 minutes later he said I'm sorry I will be right with you. 5 min later he starts cleaning the griddle and other stuff. There was a 3rd worker who vanished during all this. Then the third time he said I know it will just be a minute. I said if you dont take o ur order I am leaving. He looked at me and turned around and ignored me. My friend said let's go. First experience in there. It will be the last. You get one chance to impress...
