Boss wraps on point--now gone. You ask for no lettuce or tomato--now it suddenly appears. Asked for an authentic experience, got Cinnabons. Fire sauce, more like water sauce* (*water, tomato puree, jalopenos, vinegar, etc.) I'll be back again. 9/18/2016: Within the last two weeks, I've got five times. One time, they informed us they were out of meat. Like beef, steak, chicken meat. All of it. We now start our order asking what they're out of. Love the new orange slushie, will add one star to overall review for good slushie. Also Diablo is back, but out goes Verde so star-draw. (Update 12/6) Freeze Machine worked. Best Mystery White Airhead yet. Fantastic. But a few nights ago, the TBell was closed down for a security issue. We could only imagine the poor employees in a safe room while the police came. Speaking over the drive thru intercom, they said they were okay. Christmas miracle. 4 stars from 2. (Update 12/16) Came in, wow, fantastic food. Guacamole was amazing, whole chunks of tomato, onion. The service was friendly, just an all around great experience. Nice location, modern decor. Bumping up to five stars. (Update 12/18) Realized that a few days ago, I wasn't at Taco Bell, but Chipotle. Chipotle has 5 star, Taco Bell is back to 4 star. Still good. (Update 12/19) Went through drive thru with friend. Didn't get anything so no change to review. Guy on the other side of the intercom was "feeling just dandy." (Update 2/13) Was really looking forward to trying the new Naked Chicken Chalupa, a perfect way to begin Valentine's. Nothing says more romance than eating a Naked Chalupa by yourself in the back corner of Taco Bell. But the fryer was broken. Heartbroken, I asked if I could get a blue freeze, matching the color of my relentlessly teased... stomach. They said they'd have to see if they could get it out. I had some medical advice if they couldn't. Now, I'm sitting the back, made some friends and eating my grilled chicken burrito. Three star. (Update 6/22/17) Hi there Amigos, let me update you on my recent adventures to Taco Bell. Well, seeing that it is a steady eddy fast food joint, I've gone back quite a few times since Valentine's Day. Everything has been good so far, so we are approaching the four star range but there's been some slow service and a few confusing glances between our car and the black polo clad employees. However, anytime the wait gets a bit much, there's a healthy supply of cinnatwistas in the bag for us to assuage any hard feelings. Since Valentine's Day, they have added a great new freezie, the Spiked Lemonade which mixed really well with the strawberry Starburst Freezie and paired nicely with a XXL grilled stuffed bean burrito. I wish the BBQ Chicken Chickstar would make a come back, same with the XL drinks. My friend (pictured below) now has to order two L drinks of Baja Blast. (Update 6/27) It was the first time I had been inside this establishment since that fateful Valentine's Day. Even more significantly, it was the first time I stumbled into the bathrooms. And I was pleasantly surprised! It was clean minus two astray clear mint wrappers and the convincingly fake brick decor was nice. The smell was, well, I couldn't quite place it but it wasn't great but not offensive either. The biggest surprise happened right before I walked out with my food bag. Normally when you go through drive thru, apparently you're limited to two sauce packets per item. But inside, it's a breakfast, mild, hot, fire, Diablo sauce utopia. I was honestly expecting sauce to be dispensed the way contraceptives are at a gas station: throw in a quarter and out comes packets. But it was the Planned Parenthood up in there and later, in the privacy of my home, I practiced safe burrito eating practices, two packets per item like God intended. (Update 9/24) To my avid readers, I'm sad to report this will be my last update as I've reached a character limit on my reviews. Today when I came in, it was bopping yet peaceful. My order was perfect and... I left a satisfied customer. 5 stars. Live...
Read moreI came here three times recently I have only one thing to say: don't come here early hours around 3am or later. I had horrific service and food at 3am. I was 100% sober and was in town and wanted some taco bell as I had good food and service around 2pm one day and 6 or 7pm another.
3am service: I ordered one of their box meals, the one with the crunchwrap, tacos, nachos, and chicken quesadillas. I added extra meat on the wraps and enchiladas. I paid for extra meat too. What do I get? Half of one of my crunch wraps had no meat at all, no tomato, barely any lettuce, no sour cream or cheese. The other wrap? It definitely was not double meat it did have, what can be assumed was rice in it. It also had nothing but those. No condements or veg or cheese. My chicken quesadillas? Same issue with the meat not enough to qualify regular amounts, let alone double amount that I pay extra for each. That is 4 items I paid double meat on and didn't even get regular amounts. Some of my stuff had questionable stuff in it. I live in Boone and was home by the time I opened them. Never had such horrendous service at a taco bell or any other place before. 0 stars for the early morning shift.
Daytime/evening service: I ordered what I normally do at taco bell : a crunchwrap box with double meat (I occasionally change which box or add sour cream depending on how I feel). The box I got both times were 2 boxes with 1x crunchwrap, 1x 5 layer burrito (we remove the beans and add potatoes) , 1x potato side with nacho cheese and sour cream, and 1x drink (large). I get two of these as it is for me and my bf. We order online about 20min before we would get there (we live in Boone). Both times the food is fresh and it is done correctly.
This is not my first time ordering these meals from a taco bell, we also order these items in Ankeny and Urbandale (depending how we leave or come to the Des Moines area). So when we order we know about what to expect when we get our orders. This is how I based the reviews. Also No One should get mystery stuff in there food. Why was there rice or something else in my crunch wrap?
Overall won't go anytime after midnight, will go any other...
Read moreWent there today, ordered inside on the Kiosk at around 1:30 pm. I was the only patron inside at the time and I noticed a car at the drive thru window. I had trouble so when I FINALLY got the attention of an employee to assist me I was able to complete my order. I ordered 2 soft tacos, a SIDE of potatoes and a SIDE of nacho cheese and a small drink. I confirmed my order before hitting the "place my order" button and paid. I sat down waiting for my order. During this time I heard which appeared to be the person "in charge" as she was complaining in a loud voice to the other employees that she was not pleased with them. Apparently they asked her to help them. She said to them "you had me come help you and you only have 2 orders?". She also complained loudly that she was "short staff" for supper. She cont'd snapping at them when my name was called. I looked at the 2 (??) items wrapped on the tray and I opened one of them and said, "This is not what I ordered". The employee went to the person "in charge" and said something that I did not hear. That "person" came out and said, "This is what you ordered". I recanted my order and she said, "This is what you ordered" very loud and rude. I was not pleased at how I was treated and said, "I am not going to deal with your attitude, this is not what I had ordered" at which she replied. " I do not have an attitude and this is what you ordered." (Recall that I ordered: 2 soft shell tacos, a SIDE of potatoes and a SIDE of cheese). She opened the 2 items up and what she did was put the potatoes and cheese in my tacos. (??????).. I asked for a refund which took her some time to do. I then asked for a receipt, she snapped at me and said, "NO! I have to send them to corporate!" I left and as I left she yelled, " HAVE GREAT DAY!!!" I will...
