The food is great and we used to order at least once a month. My problem is I ordered Jeff's for lunch a few weeks ago. I used the online ordering system through their website. The total was around $21 with a $4 tip I added for the driver. After I clicked "order" the screen just said processing for a good 15 minutes. Thinking there was something up, I called the store to see if they received my order. They had not and said that they had issues with online ordering. After checking my bank account, I see that the $21 had already been taken out of my account. I tell the employee that and she offered to cancel the order if/when it went through and they'd refund my account. Fine. Problem solved, these things happen. A couple days go by and the money has not been refunded to my account. I call the store and talk to an employee. It's mass chaos there. The internet is down, the manager is unavailable, they're all having a rough day. Fine. I work in customer service, those days happen. I say i'll call back if it's not refunded in a couple of days. A couple of days go by and it's not refunded. Not only NOT refunded, but the $4 tip I added for the driver is taken out of my account as well. So i'm out $25 for an order I never received. I call back. Talk to a wonderful employee who assures me she will send the message along to the manager and i'll be contacted about it. I wait a couple days, and I haven't heard anything. I call back. Mind you, this is almost 2 weeks after I tried to place the order and the money was taken out of my account. I talk to the same awesome employee who apologizes for the manager never returning my call. She can't do anything. I feel bad for her and all the other employees who have to work under a manager who clearly doesn't care. I think after a couple of weeks, I would have been happy with the manager making it right with at least a gift certificate for the amount they took out of my account. But at this point, I'm considering calling my bank to report a fraudulent charge. So to sum it up, decent food, awesome employees,...

I never expected a full refund, as we did enjoy other aspects of our meal, but he still offered and personally called me to let me know he was issuing a refund and working with the crew for better qualy control. I get it...things don't always go right, especially the weird way the world is right now, so mistakes happen. I just wanted what was fair, and Jeff delivered on that. Thank you!!
I almost never write negative reviews, especially for local businesses, but my last encounter at Jeff's pizza in Ames was disappointing to say the least. I ordered two pizzas for carry out. One of them was fine, but the other one was a disaster. It looked like it was dropped on the ground and then picked back up. 80% of the toppings were slid off it and piled in the corner of the box. This did NOT come from me, as they were sitting level on my passenger seat of my car the whole time and my other pizza was just fine. Not to mention, I pulled out a 2 inch long, black coarse beard hair from the cheese. Gross! It was also cut party style, instead of triangles, which i wouldn't have cared too much about but i didn't ask for that. I called to ask if they could please just refund the amount for that one pizza, but apparently the manager said they "couldn't do refunds since it already went through my card". What? How do you manage a business without having that option? My only option was to accept a credit attached to my phone number for the next time i came in or drive 35 minutes back, one way to get a new one. I took the credit, but i'm not too...
Read moreJeff's is located in campus town next to Iowa State University campus right off Lincoln way. It's popular with the students and can be very busy on Saturday nights during the school year. I used their website to order a 20" Supreme and paid online. I waited about 15 minutes and then headed their way. Pizza was ready. Parking is definitely limited at this location. Being Saturday night, I had to drive around the block a couple times, to get a parking spot. The pizza was great. I recommend getting the regular crust if you buy a 20" Supreme pizza. Thin crust can't support all the toppings they put that pizza (center gets soggy). I get thin crust for taco pizza. My son likes their cheese steak pizza. I like the Supreme! The 20" is perfect for a party pizza. For leftovers, you have to pull the slices out of the box. My refrigerator door won't shut with the box in the refrigerator. This is one big pizza! If you want to go with a group of friends and you're willing to dine in, they have a 30" that is just huge. Dine in only...
