Really has gone down hill. You used to be able to get pretty good food for a decent price. $13 for the special of the day which was a 4x4" sandwich (just meat and noodles and a TON of some sort of sauce) and bowl of chili (that wasn't really chili, it was more like chili powdered flavored water.) Didn't even get a drink or chips or a cookie... The sandwich was microwaved for no reason, and it was on sub bread put in a toaster (which did nothing). Overall it was nasty.
So I went back a few weeks later because the guys at work wanted to go. Had the medium Italian sandwich, and some creamy something soup. Was better this time. I think it had to do with getting the medium sandwich, which came on a mini loaf of bread instead of the sliced sub bread that the large special came on. Was still over $10 but at least I didn't feel like my money was wasted. The other peoples meals looked good and they said they were happy.
Overall I think its pricey and the food is hit or miss.
Edit: 2 years later...
Got a sandwich, cup of chili and a pop for $9. The food was very good, the chili (hella spicy but good) and the greek veggie sandwhich (delish.) I am happy this place is...
Read moreIf I had to describe west street deli in one word, that word would be sandwich. For you see despite being called west street deli, they are in fact a sandwich shop. Wait....hang on....I have just googled what the word deli means. Interesting....it's actually short for delicatessen.....didn't know that. It's defined as a store selling cold cuts, cheeses and a variety of salads, as well as a selection of unusual or foreign prepared food. Well they do sell cold cuts and cheeses. Also they have coleslaw, which I think is a salad. I'll be damned it is a deli. Also foreign prepared food? Isn't all food in a restaurant foreign? Or are they saying foreign like outside the US? Wait that doesn't make sense, I don't see how a sandwich is foreign? Now I'm just confused. What was I talking about? Right the deli. Love their food. Would highly recommend their west street wrap. Wait they have wraps, so it's not just a sandwich shop. Or is a wrap technically a sandwich? Damn I'm confused again. In summary, good food,...
Read moreAlways give the local guy a try. But unfortunately I can’t give a rave review about this one. First time there and I ordered the Greek with turkey. As the gentleman was making my sandwich I noticed he slathered a white sauce on the bread and I said oops I’m sorry no sauce please and as I turned back and looked at the menu I noticed that it did say “dill sauce”. So that it totally my fault. So instead of the guy tossing the bread with that spread on it, he just used his knife and wiped it off the bread? So it technically still had that spread on the bread but just a thin layer. So I’m contemplating with myself and thought ok so he didn’t toss it so I’ll just deal with the remaining spread and eat it. So as I go back to work and open up the sand which I noticed the lettuce on the sand which is completely pink. Pink as in almost bad. I wish I could upload a picture so you can...
