This really is 3.5 stars. I’ll start off with the service was great. Exactly what you want from a waitress. Quick, efficient, and friendly. To start we were given some fresh bread with olive oil and garlic which was delicious. Had to ask for seconds it was that good. The beers were cold and decent selection. I ordered chicken parm since it’s a staple of any Italian spot. The meals came out quickly, around 15 minutes. Most likely because we were seated right when the place opened. The chicken was thicker than I normally like which results in a chewy and rubbery piece of meat. My only suggestion would be to make the cutlets thinner and just give two with the meal. I appreciate the generous portion, but chicken parm is suppose to be thin! Sauce was tasty and spaghetti was cooked good. There is ample seating on the floors and a cute and cozy spot. Wish they had a tiramisu on the menu but oh well, I’ll be back if I’m in the area.

Came here for a date with my girlfriend for her birthday. We were excited to try the place out and eat some pasta. Tried some of the calamari and arancini for appetizers. Definitely recommend the calamari, we ordered ours spicy which actually wasn't too hot but still very flavorful. The arancini was fairly bland and although it looked cool you aren't missing much. Our pastas were cooked pretty well with al dente fettuccini (crazy Alfredo and sirloin strip Alfredo), portions were large, sirloin strips were primarily medium and soft to chew which was nice. Service was a little slow for our liking where we had to request a water fill up or two. Overall, typical Italian pasta place that didn't stand out amongst other restaurants in the area.

Pasta E Basta consistently kills it! It has been 3-4 months since I hit them up and made the drive to Boltwood Walk in Slamherst. Decided to do it tonight on this rainy Monday evening. Went with my “go to”. Sirloin Steak Alfredo. It’s served with fettuccine. I get it with Penne. The cardboard box next to the Alfredo is my large house salad with Italian. I dig the salad in the box. I dig this place in general. Very excited and relieved to see them and the other great pasta place nearby (Bruno’s) still in business. The uncertain times we all just went through closed the doors to a lot of awesome spots for eats. I would have been heartbroken if those uncertain times took away my 2 favorite places to get a dank pasta meal.

Flavor! Service! Atmosphere! I can say nothing bad about my experience here, dinner for two on graduation weekend. The food was excellent, not what you make at home. The waitress was prompt and just the right level of attentive. The building is really cool with old exposed brick, painted ironwork throughout, and a skylight illuminating the second and third floors through the open stairwell. Not cheap but not super expensive either. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pasta e Basta is such a cozy little restaurant in downtown Amherst. Whenever I had something to celebrate, or needed to have my spirits lifted, PeB was my first choice. Service is always top notch, even when it is a busy night. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Food quality is outstanding. I’m a big fan of the alfredo in all forms. Though I had my favorites, whenever I tried something new, I was never, ever disappointed.

I moved to the area just today and what a perfect place to have my first dinner! From Ben's warm welcome as I stumbled up the stairs to Sid's excellent service. I was lucky enough to get probably the best table, one at a window. The dinner was excellent, loved the fresh bread with olive oil, the herbivore dinner, and dessert with coffee. The atmosphere was eloquent yet casual, warm and comfortable. I plan on many visits to come!
