Very disappointing. We we’re excited to add this restaurant into our date night rotation. The last several times we dined here we loved it. My wife and I discussed having dinner here on a regular basis before going to the movies - which is right next-door. This visit, my wife ordered a “lunch portion” $10.95 shrimp dish, as always. However this time, she was hardly able to eat one piece of the shrimp because it was starting to turn. It was extremely fishy tasting, a sure indication of seafood going bad. We spoke to our server and let him know the shrimp was going bad and asked if my wife could order another dish. He was gracious and said that would not be a problem. She ordered a chicken item from the menu this time and it was very good. We thanked them for it and let them know that it was great and we appreciated it. When we received our bill the shrimp dinner was still on our ticket. I asked our server about this and he said “I’m sorry, it shouldn’t be on there. I will ask them about that”. We were surprised when another employee came to our table and said that they had just received a new shipment of food today so the shrimp is not bad. She continued by saying that the chef had worked really hard on this meal and they would not take the shrimp dinner off of the ticket. My wife offered more than once the idea that they should try her shrimp so they would understand how badly it tasted. I explained that we go there often for dinner, my wife is an avid seafood eater and always orders it from them. We’ve never had to send anything back before but she’s never, not ever, had a piece of shrimp that has tasted this bad… why would we still be charged for the shrimp dinner? The employee then became defensive and told us that other patrons had eaten the shrimp throughout the day and no one else complained so she would not take it off of our bill. We expressed our sadness to her about this because we enjoy going there for dinner and didn’t understand why she became defensive. I asked if they were willing to lose customers over a $10.95 dish? Was that how they did business? She would not take the item off the bill. I told her that I would pay for the item but we wouldn’t come back again. She told us that that’s just how the restaurant business is and that if they lose a customer that was fine. We were so sad about that and I told her that! I also paid $60 for the $40 meal and told her that in no way am I trying to get out of paying for something. That was not the point. The shrimp was truly bad and we should not have been charged for it. So we were really bummed out that we have a place that we looked forward to going to that we will not go to again in the future. They did not care at all if we were their...
Read moreI do not typically leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to after numerous problems throughout our dinner experience.
#1 After being seated, we waited over 15 minutes before the waitress took our order. We were extremely close to walking out due to how long it had been and were discussing where we should eat instead when she returned.
#2 We ordered from their dinner menu and 3 asked for Wonton Soup and 1 asked for Egg Drop. This was confirmed verbally by the waitress before she left, although I noticed she did not write anything down. When she came back with 2 Egg Drop Soups and 2 Wonton, I mentioned that I believe she brought me the wrong soup. She then came back with the correct soup, but instead of apologizing, she said my boy had actually ordered the egg drop soup. This was incorrect and unnecessary, especially since everyone at the table heard the correct order and she verbally confirmed it before leaving. There was also a 5 minute delay in delivery of the first 2 soups and the next 2 soups. This did not include the additional time to fix the incorrect one.
#3 The "fried rice" was simply not fried rice in my opinion. There was no soy sauce, peanut oil, nearly no egg, almost no trace of fried onion, and zero protein (chicken/beef/ham). I honestly believe it should have been called white rice, even though we explicitly ordered and confirmed fried rice for everyone. She said it was their fried rice when she dropped it off. Look at the photo and decide for yourself.
Fried Rice recipes often include: jasmine rice cooked - sauteed onions fine chop - peanut oil - chopped ham steak or chicken/beef - eggs cooked separately and then added at the end - premium dark soy sauce to at least make the rice look brown - finely shredded carrots and peas depending on desired presentation.
#3 The main course was decent. I would have preferred some heat with the General Tso's Chicken. It was almost more sweet (like orange chicken) than spicy as listed on the menu. The sweet and sour was good.
#4 The bill arrived with 2 fortune cookies for 4 people who ordered 4 dinner meals. We have often received far too many cookies at other restaurants vs not even 1 per dinner meal ordered for a...
Read moreWe were greeted promptly upon entering the restaurant and seated quickly. Server took our drink order but didnt bring our beverages for awile. Upon bringing our drinks, we were ready to order but server just dropped off our drinks and abruptly went to a nearby table before we could place our order. When she returned ( 7 minutes later !) she finally took our order. After waiting 20 more minutes to get out food, we were saddened to discover that the vast majority of the food was cold/likewarm and that she had gotten our order incorrect. She was insincere and not apologetic and she, ' had to talk to someone in the kitchen. When she returned to our table, she informed us that there was ' nothing she could do' and that she was, " sorry" but NEVER offered to let us converse with a manager regarding our 1st time visit to this restaurant. We paid for the 2 bites each of the awful, cold food whose order was predominantly incorrect and we left. We recommend you do NOT dine here. The awful service, cavalier attitude of our annoyed server coupled with our receiving a ( mostly) wrong order with lukewarm food convinced us that our 1st visit here will definitely be our last. Save your hard-earned money and...
