I've been here twice now and the food is excellent! I've never had fried rice that amazing, ever! I loved the sushi and soft shell crab! The first time I came here was for a company Christmas party. We had a group of 15 and everyone's order was taken all together. I assumed we'd all be severed at the same time. Nope. We didn't quite have enough people to fill every seat so they waited until more people could fill the empty seats. After we had already waited for over an hour, the chef for half of the came out and started cooking but the other chef didn't come for atleast another 15 minutes.
I have food allergies and the first thing I did upon ordering was inform the staff of my allergies. They said my food would have to be cooked in the kitchen. That was completely fine because I still got to watch everyone else's meal being cooked and I really don't like having an allergic reaction. My food was brought out about the same time as everyone else was served and all seemed well. As we are leaving I realise I dont feel well. Sure enough I was having an allergic reaction, not a severe one but no allergic reaction is fun. I definitely will not eat habachi here again.
Tonight I decided to give there sushi a try. I ordered online and made sure to list my allergies is the comments section but had allergies meds on hand just to be safe. My sushi was amazing! I also had the soft shell crab as an appetizer. It was good but soggy from the layer of lettuce they put it on. I also ordered a strawberry marble soda. I was given watermelon and my receipt said water melon. Not too big of a deal but kinda strange.
Here is my biggest complaint. The parking. Both times I've been here this has been a huge issue. I drive a ram and in a normal parking lot, it's hard to park. In this parking lot it is close to impossible. I can not park anywhere without folding my mirrors before trying to pull into a space. 99% of spaces I won't even try because they are so tight. Tonight the 3 to-go spaces we full and I literally circled this massive parking lot looking for any space I might be able to fit into for 20 minutes. I do understand this is a Saturday night and there are 6+ restaurants and a movie theater that all share this parking lot. However when it is easier for trucks to park on the sidewalk in the middle of the parking lot, there is a problem. And maybe remove the snow from the property instead of making 2 massive piles on both sides of that sidewalk. When the to-go parking finally opened up I parked and went and got my food. I spent maybe a full minute getting my food. I was pretty annoyed.
Overall, the food is excellent. The habachi is not allergy friendly. Picks will have a harder time parking and good luck finding a space. I would come back to have sushi again, if I could ever find a...
Read moreMy wife and I live in Pocatello and frequently go to the Fuji in Pocatello, so I feel like we had pretty reasonable expectations on our first visit to the Idaho Falls location over the weekend. Overall it really didn't deliver in the way that the Pocatello one consistently does. Not sure if it's a management issue? For starters, my wife and I (on a kid-free date night), were immediately seated in the "party room" which was bright and loud and filled with huge families with ton of kids running wild. I could totally understand seating all the families in a loud side room, but two grown adults with no kids should probably be seated in a more appropriate part of the restaurant. Having someone's wild kids running up to our table constantly while trying to enjoy a $50/plate meal (drinks included) greatly detracted from our visit. Hostesses here should be trained to seat similar groups of people together, just as they are trained to do in most other dining establishments.
Our waitress wasn't bad, but also wasn't particularly friendly or personable. I'm sure she was sick of dealing with herds of ill-behaved kids, but I felt bad asking for things because I felt like we were a chore.
The food was good, but not as good as the Pocatello location. I got the sushi/nigiri dinner. The yellowtail (I got as a side) was delicious, but all the other sushi seemed a little sub par. The tuna was dry and borderline inedible; in retrospect, I probably shouldn't have eaten it. I have high expectations for freshness in my sushi, and I've honestly had grocery store sushi that was better than some of the pieces I was served. Very underwhelmed. The salad was delicious, as always, and the miso was good but far from the best I've had. The teriyaki chicken was really good, as was the rice (and sauce that comes with the rice).
Our mixed drinks were very good and the bus staff seemed like they were working their hardest to keep tables cleaned, despite the big families not cleaning up after themselves and leaving a disgusting mess.
We'll continue to frequent the Pocatello Fuji due to the superior service, food quality, and patrons, but we definitely won't be back to...
Read moreFraud alert/ alerting with tips. Always keep your receipts! I would highly suggest that you take cash with you and not run any card transactions. We were there on January 15th 2023 for lunch and our meal came out to $83.58…. Pretty pricey for LUNCH. We did however have Habachi, sushi and a couple of sodas. For 2 adults and a 3 year old….that was extremely pricey.
Our waitress who is on the picture above was nice… however we didn’t need to know her whole life stories and drama that went on at home. She just seemed off that day. We tipped her with cash on the table and wrote on the receipt “tip is on the table”.
A few days past and I noticed on a bank statement that I was overcharged and my signature was forged. I always sign the total amount and this seemed just suspicious.
I was Definitely upset and I called them. The “management” hung up on me a few times and when they were adult enough to talk they issued me my tip refund.
The management texted me my original receipt and there want even my signature on it. It looked like a Capital B and C Could this be our waitress name? Hmmm….. her name did start with a B… we thought this was very suspicious and just off.
It was so ugly that police had to get involved and do an investigation on the crimes that took place is Stealing/Forgery. The officer said, it looked forged but they couldn’t see this on any cameras. The officer said it liked to him a female’s signature with B C…. The waitress first and last named matched that.
I had to call a different Fujis just to figure out who the manager really was. It it wasn’t for law enforcement I think we never would of cracked this case.
I would highly suggest everyone to look twice at their bank statements before leaving or simply use cash when you go in to Fujis. Will we go back…. Maybe…. We just want to earn their trust back. The reason for the 1 star review was the headache and drama we had to go through within the last week. We just don’t want this to...
