Walking into Biryani Boys feels like stepping into a vibrant, modern desi sports lounge—neon halal signs, Lakers and Angels logos glowing proudly, sports blasting on TV, and a touch of traditional flair with tiled patterns and cultural charm. This spot effortlessly blends Pakistani street food energy with an American fast-casual vibe.
I tried a mix of snacks and sides, and here’s how it all went down:
Ambiance & Vibe: This place is super clean, well-lit, and decked out in branding. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, the space is welcoming with good energy. Plenty of seating, and they’ve definitely made it Instagrammable with their colors and decor. Loved the murals and how it’s equal parts modern and rooted in culture.
The Food: • Samosas: Perfectly fried and golden brown, with that classic flaky shell that gives way to warm, spiced filling. A little oily but in a satisfying, indulgent way—exactly what you want from a samosa. • Seasoned Crinkle Fries: Okay, I wasn’t expecting fries to be this good. Crispy with a flavorful masala-style dusting that gave them a kick. Great as a side or even just a snack on its own. • Dessert (likely Kheer or some rice pudding variation): Served chilled in a to-go container, topped with a crumbly spice mix. Sweet, creamy, and comforting—good portion size too. • Chutney/Dipping Sauce: That green sauce packed a punch—cool, minty, and slightly tangy. Tied everything together beautifully. • Lemonade (or lime soda): Refreshing, fizzy, and just sweet enough to cut through the spice.
Service & Speed: Counter service was quick and friendly. Everything was clearly labeled, and they had a good system for to-go orders.
Final Thoughts: Biryani Boys is doing something cool—modern Pakistani food in a space that feels current, casual, and fun. Whether you’re a desi food lover or a first-timer, there’s something here for everyone. I’ll definitely be back to try their actual biryani next time!
Rating: 4.5/5 Great snacks, good vibes, and definitely a spot...
Read moreBiryani Boys came up on a reel on my Facebook and it looked really appealing. I went here on March 19, 2025 for lunch. You should note that they are closed on Mondays. I tried to have this several weeks before and unfortunately came on a Monday. I had arrived right when it opened and was greeted by the owner, Sohila. She was very friendly and helped me make my choices since it was my first time here. I ended up with the following:
Roll (with Chapli Kabob) - This was simply delicious! The flatbread was so tasty… and light and toasted. It definitely went well with the Chapli. Loaded Fries (with Karachi Chicken) - The fries were crinkle cut… hot and crispy like ones at Shake Shack. I liked the chicken but want to try and compare with the Malai Chicken before I can say which one I prefer more. Chicken Samosas - These were different in a good way compared to Samosas I’ve had in the past. The wrapping is more of an egg roll wrapper than a dough that I’m used to. It was nicely fried with a crispy exterior and a filling that had a good kick. Would like to try the potato one to compare. Guava Mango Lassi - This took the normal mango lassi I’m used to up another notch. So good! I could drink one of these everyday!
Overall I really enjoyed the food and can’t wait to go back to try other items… and even more of the ones I really liked.
The decor is modern with touches of Pakistani flare and local team memorabilia since it’s so close to the Angel’s Stadium. Maybe Sohila will display some Chicago Teams memorabilia if I bring it in! LOL.
So, if you like Pakistani food or are curious to try, this is one I would...
Read moreAMAZING! This newly opened restaurant quickly became a new gem of the city. Everyone is extremely friendly and came around several times checking that we enjoyed our food and added suggestions and freebies to make sure we were happy. They really cared about us enjoying our food and it shows. The sodas are only $3 and there's combo options too for a unlimited refill amazing fresh soda machine that has nothing artificial and the pineapple soda is amazing. The food is VERY spicy though and I would order less spice than you think because it goes very hard. I do not do good with spice and accidentally ordered one of the spiciest meats. They offered to remake it for me but it was so good and the service was so amazing I just wanted to eat my order anyways. They gave me extra sauces and even a small mango freeze to wash it down and the tears were worth it. The fries are excellent and the pulled beef is incredibly fresh. Just communicate while ordering if you don't want much spice and they will take care of you. I am really impressed with the food and the quantity is amazing for the price. This is one of those places that just one visit will make you come back over and over. Support this place so it can grow because these are good people that want to make good affordable food!
I ate my food so fast I didn't have a time to take pictures, but the bowls and fancy wrap containers are amazing. I also would recommend getting some raita sauce as it's very very creamy and goes really well...
