Read moreThis place was great! My family of 5 came 30 mins after it opened so food was fresh and service was fast and great! We ordered the small combo sashimi mix, spicy miso ramen, tonkatsu ramen, popcorn roll, ca roll, salmon mini burrito, sesame chicken with green onions, and a salmon roll. This was a lot to take in but we were able to eat it all.
Ramen Spicy miso ramen was tasty. Slurped down the broth and all the addons. Fresh veggies enhanced the ramen and the spice level was a solid medium. I could have added more but had to keep it mild foe the kids. The egg wasn't pickled correctly or something because i didnt get that pickle taste from each bite. Tonkatsu ramen was great! Broth had huge amounts of flavor. The pork was delicious and it had a very hardy taste. Veggies were fresh and tasty. Popcorn roll crawdads were phenomenal. Even though the outside rolle was a CA roll, the crawdads were grilled to perfection. The flaky crust was sprinkled over the whole fish which gave a crunchy taste to every bite. Definitely have to try again! Sesame chicken with green onions was a hit for us. The chicken was deep fried perfectly! For the adults, the green onion had a great sautéed sauce that complimented the chicken. It was a very tasty dish. The small sushi combo was tasty! All sashimi and the pepper/wasabi mixture really complimented the sashimi. Each piece was thick sliced which was different from the picture on the menu. (Which is welcomed!) There was also a great seaweed salad on the side which pickled carrots and sliced cucumbers. Mini salmon burrito was just how it looks: a sushi roll in your hand. There was a good slab of salmon pieces in the middle. The lettuce kind of threw me off but it worked. The salmon skin gave the burrto a good crunch and the imitation crab reminded me of sprinkles for ice cream. Delish! Quick note, add the pepper/wasabi mix to enhance your taste! CA roll was good as it is. Not much to say about this... Salmon roll was tasty and it had black sesame seeds on top. Tasty and delicious.
All in all. The food was great and the service was awesome. I would've given it a 4.5 but ratings are imperfect. Will definitely come back...
Read moreI've driven past this place many times but sort of assumed it couldn't be good. I was prejudiced by the drive thru I guess. Like how can a ramen place with a drive thru be good? It's irrational thinking, of course. Also, in my mind it was never busy because I didn't really see many cars there, or thought I didn't. But the wife and I were in the mood for ramen and decided to give it a go. To my surprise it was quite busy when we arrived at dinner time on a Sunday, and we had a brief wait for a table. There were two TV's, one with a game on and the other with a movie. The woman who greeted us was friendly, and the place generally seemed comfortable and homey.
I ordered Tonkatsu Ramen and the wife got Spicy Miss Ramen. We also got a sushi roll to split. I enjoyed my ramen a great deal, nicely cooked egg, melt in mouth chashu, rich broth. Wife's was also good. Cheap Asahi draft beer served ice cold was also great!
The waitress was very nice and extremely welcoming of our somewhat misbehaving toddler (past her bedtime). She'd have had a right to be a little annoyed, but instead she played with our little one and chatted with her, and basically, again, made us feel at home. However, I do think the waitstaff may have been slightly overworked that night, with maybe too much being asked of them in terms of how many tables each had to deal with. I overheard a different party complaining to each other about a long wait for their check or something, but we didn't have any service issues. Our waitress couldn't have been nicer, more prompt or more helpful.
All in all it was a fun, reasonable priced, and most importantly delicious dinner, and we'll be...
