First off I'd like to say that my wife and I really enjoy coming here. Food is great and the service is usually pretty good. It's a chill little spot here my wife and can enjoy ourselves eat, drink and and chit chat.
However, tonight was an off night for us I guess. I ordered the usual Shabu and schezuan chicken wings. Everything came out as we ordered and we were told the wings would take about 10min longer which is normal.
I LOVE CHICKEN WINGS! After about half my food being devoured I decide to ask about the wings. Mind you it's been past 15 min and the wings are not out. So our waitress says she'll check on it, comes back and says they'll still be a couple more minutes. To me that means they have not been put in or cooked yet.
At this point, I have a pretty good idea what's going on. Why not just tell me that truth at this point that the order wasn't put in. I would've been ok with that.
Now when the wings come out, my wife says that they look "different". I decide to taste them anyways, but they were not as crispy as usual and slightly undercooked so we decide to not eat them. I was DISAPPOINTED to say the least.
Alain, the general manager did come by to ask us how the food was and we told him the truth. So he decided to hook is up with a free appetizer cars for the next time we're in.
Although everything else was great, the only thing that sticks is the last bad experience. That's just human nature.
We might need to give this place another try before deciding to keep coming...
Read moreWhen I looked up places to eat using ART, I knew that this one would be at the top of my list. It had been a long time since I had shabu-shabu and was looking forward to it. I arrived a little over an hour after they opened and luckily there was no wait.
I was sat down at the counter and elected to try the premium all you can eat shabu-shabu for $40. The server helped select my combination broth a Thai coconut with Spicy Szechuan and my two sauces Citrus and Sha Cha.
Service was pretty good, they frequently checked up on how I was going and were overall nice. The food was overall phenomenal with my favorite being the New York Steak. The green tea ice cream was also a great end to the meal.
By the time I finished my meal there was a long wait line. If you want to try it out I definitely recommend going a little after opening to avoid the rush.
While the all you can eat is on the expensive side I do rexommend giving it a shot if you want to treat yourself to a nice experience. They give you a time limit of 2 hours but that should be plenty of time. Just make sure you arrive hungry and remember that the restroom is on the ground floor near the ice...
Read moreHere goes.. This place left a bad taste in my mouth after the first few seconds of meeting allen.
Yes, he seemed like a charismatic dude and comes off quite friendly but one of the first comments he made when I asked if they have more options than just salad options for Vegetarian he responded with " This isnt a vegetarian Base Restaurant". I mean so what the heck are you implying- Are you trying to tell me I should leave than because I am a vegetarian!?
I was pretty fuming inside because they have vegetarian broth - which I ended up getting and was super duper salty, I was craving water the rest of the night.
Also when the brown rice was brought out the girl had her thumb in my rice! I didn't say anything because of the fear of them rubbing anything else on my food since I already made it apparent that I was unhappy.
Regardless the sauces and the texture of the rice was pretty good and the fact that he tried to make it up by bringing me more vegetables was kind of nice but over all , the first impression really left me in a very...
