1st Wok — Restaurant in Anderson Township

Definitely our family’s favorite in town! We were so sad that they were closed during the COVID shutdown but soooooo happy they are back open. We tried different restaurants in the area but none could compare in taste, quality, value, and quantity.

The food is always high quality and cooked fresh. We open our containers and everything is always piping hot when we get home (10 minutes from the restaurant). My husband and kids usually order the same thing but I always mix it up and we have never been disappointed no matter what we order. They’re great with customization and changing things up too. I’ve been impressed when we’ve ordered smaller orders for our family of 5 and when we’ve ordered for a larger family gathering to feed 30. They're always quick to fill our order even when we didn’t call ahead!

Their customer service is great as well. We can walk in here and be greeted with a smile from the owner or one of her kids. She recognizes us every time. And if we’re calling in for a delivery, she knows who we are based on the street name alone. We don’t order from here but maybe once a month or every other month but we feel like we’re treated as if we’re...

I've been going here for years as I've lived in the area since 2002. I also work at Mercy Hospital. I order the same menu, never even the lunch menu. I order Combination Fried Rice with No Pork and beef instead. With a order of Fried Chicken with pepper oil. The Asian lady that is the owner with her husband. She knows when she sees me what I'm ordering. To my surprise the last few times I've been there My order was HORRIBLE,,,, The combo Rice was not fresh and my chicken tasted like it was refried, No Seriously... On top of this I even leave a "TIP" AND I'M PICKING IT UP. I found myself also waiting longer than usual even after people ordering behind me

At best, the food was average. However, the middle-aged Asian woman serving customers clearly has issues with race. I observed that she warmly greeted every Caucasian person as they entered the store, but never even acknowledged the only two persons of color that entered the store while I was there. One of them immediately approached the counter to pick up their food, greeted the middle-aged Asian woman, and announced their name. The Asian woman placed their food on the counter and said absolutely nothing. In fact, after she placed their food on the counter, she immediately turned and walked into the kitchen area. This customer of color said, "thank you" and left the restaurant. Again, the Asian woman failed to reciprocate.
