Last night, I visited La Rosa for dinner with my friend. We ordered a full meal, including appetizer, entrées, four drinks, dessert, and a latte. While the quality of the food was good, the service was unacceptable and raised serious concerns about the restaurant’s business practices.
Throughout our meal, multiple staff members interrupted us to ask if we had finished, even though we were still eating. One staff member, in particular, repeatedly attempted to clear our table prematurely, creating an uncomfortable and rushed dining atmosphere.
At one point, she removed my unfinished second round of cocktails without even asking, which forced me to pack up my entrée and dessert just to protect them from being taken away.
The most concerning incident occurred when this staff member attempted to remove my latte while I was still drinking it. When I declined, she stated that the restaurant enforces a strict 90-minute dining limit and we had to leave. This was both inappropriate and unreasonable, as there was no indication on the restaurant’s website, reservation confirmation, or posted signage about such a policy.
Following this experience, I inquired with others familiar with La Rosa and confirmed that there is, in fact, no such 90-minute seating policy in place. The whole experience was misleading, unprofessional, and unfair to paying customers.
This dinner resulted in a bill of approximately $170 for a dinner that was overshadowed by harassment and dishonesty. I believe this reflects deceptive business practices and a lack of proper...
Read moreLaRosa’s Andover catered a family memorial event for us, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start, Chiara took care of everything with such attention to detail, making sure we had exactly what we needed. The food was incredible, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully put together.
The antipasto platters were a standout, with aged cheeses, prosciutto, and marinated vegetables, plus the fig jam and honey added such a nice touch. The vegetarian antipasto was just as delicious, with perfectly grilled vegetables that tasted as good as they looked. The salads were crisp and refreshing, especially the Garbanzo Salad. We have several vegetarians in our group who had more to choose from than we’ve ever seen in a luncheon menu.
The sandwiches were a delicious and everyone commented on them. The Tuscan tuna with sundried tomatoes and capers was a great twist on a classic, and the Caprese was fresh and full of flavor. The steak tip sandwich was a favorite, with steak, roasted red peppers, and white cheddar, this was the first to go and I will definitely order double the next time.
Everything was just right, from the food to the service, and it made a difficult day a little easier for our family. Chiara and Ella and the whole team went above and beyond, and we’re so grateful for their kindness and professionalism. We’ve had sandwiches for take out before but this experience gave us a new insight into a fantastic new way to enjoy LaRosa’s! Thank you for...
Read moreWe came to their restaurant well before 330 pm and ordered lunch. When the food was finally ready, they brought it in takeout boxes for us as we could not sit down and enjoy the meal, which was the only reason why I went in the restaurant. The manager was not willing to work with me, though, of course if the business responds they will say otherwise, and she thought that I was expected to be a mind reader, and know that dinner service changes at four o'clock.
That is not posted anywhere!!!!
I would not patronize this establishment. There are so many other great restaurants, I’m sure around here. We tried the food and it was disgusting. It was all bitter. Plus they got my order wrong.
I ordered a Caprese sandwich which clearly shows on the list of items to pick for this review but instead was given a salad. All this cost around $60.
When I was leaving, I was accosted by a patron who said I’ve been coming here for years. Everyone knows dinner starts at four. Forgive me for being new to Andover, and not knowing by heart all the hours of all the restaurants in downtown Andover. I will avoid this restaurant in downtown Andover forever. Please bear in mind. I was with my disabled husband and my eight year old child.
Update. The food made my son sick and he’s throwing up right now. He apparently got food poisoning from...
