Northern Lights Pizza (118) — Restaurant in Ankeny

We just moved to Ankeny in May of 2014. We were very disappointed in the food we had been finding in Des Moines and Ankeny. We decided to try Northern Lights simply because it was close, despite the mixed reviews. The first time we ordered the Double pepperoni specialty pizza with garlic butter crust... And some other pizza. The other pizza was just OK... But the double pep special with garlic butter crust gave me a pizzagasm. For almost a year now we have ordered at least one a week. The quality is always top notch, delivery is fast, and pizza is hot. So I don't know what all the fuss is about. Maybe people live too far away from the store? But anyway.. I highly recommend you try this pizza. My one criticism is that sometimes they seem to forget to make it a double pep, or sometimes they forget the garlic butter on the crust. The pizza is so good we just forgive them and keep ordering. TRY...

I ordered a taco pizza and cheese sticks. It took 1 1/2 hours to get my food then i didnt open the taco packet that comes with all the toppings right away, but when i did open it i found what looked like 2 bread sticks and some butter. I called right away and the new store manager answered the phone i preceded to tell him my problem. He then checked with the driver and the order that was delivered before mine and no one had it. He then said that i had to have gotten it and yelled at me because he thought all i wanted was a free pizza then he hung up on me when i was in mid sentence. I called back and told him i would not be treated this way and told him to send me a new pizza and the taco packet. He said fine and hung up. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. He need to learn how to treat a loyal customer and grow the business by taking care of those who do...

i refused to order from this location for about 1 year. i had tried to order from them in the past and multiple times no one would answer or the order just never showed up. BUT this time was great!! i ordered delivery online and hit to many buttons bc i was in a hurry with 2 toddlers making a mess behind me. a girl from the store (shelly maybe, idk lol) called me and asked if the order was right!! i was impressed most places just really dont give a damn they just make it. then the eta was 40min, got here in 20min! THEN the guy that delivered the pizza (nicholis taylor, is what the rcpt said ) was very nice and interacted with my 1 year old and ive never a delivery driver be so nice to my kids when they stand there in the way and stare at them lol! it was great i hope it stays that way bc i love northern lights...
