Savor Brazil — Restaurant in Ankeny

I love this place so much! The food is delicious! DELICIOUS! (Sorry no pics today as I ate everything too fast.). I am a grain free vegan who just had the most amazing breakfast pastry, Hearts of Palm Pot Pie (made with cassava flour). This was a BEAUTIFUL tasting dish. The pastry was flaky and the inside was creamy and DELICIOUS. This is not specifically regarded as a breakfast dish, I just happen to be here at 8:30am AND I had a really great cup of coffee with it. 😎 I feel really lucky to have had this experience. This is the very first time an Owner has asked me to tell them more about my limitations in an effort to understand and possibly provide more options in the future. My heart is full. The food and the people here are beautiful! We are so lucky to have this place in Ankeny! I will be back every day that my schedule and budget allows! I love it here! *Worth noting that everything is hand made so they know every ingredient that goes in their dishes. Also worth noting that they have the meats and the sweets! LOL I got my boys some beef, chicken and sausage pastries to go. They’ll have to come back and get the cakes themselves!😂. If you’ve ever wondered if Brazilian food in the U.S. can truly taste like home — yes, it can, and it’s at Savor Brazil. I’ve been ordering Inez’s food for years, and every single bite tastes like it was made with love. Her seasoning is incredible, her recipes are authentic, and you can feel the care she puts into every detail. She truly care about her food and the customers. She is attentive and kind! We love her and her food!

My absolute favorites are the pastel and the risole de carne — they’re packed with flavor and take me right back to Brazil. I’ve had the joy of watching Savor grow from its beginnings, and I’m so proud to now see it in its physical form, right here on Google Maps.

This place is amazing! I honestly don't know which was better, the food, or the staff. We are not very familiar with Brazilian food, but we do like to try different cuisines. The staff took the time to tell us about the different menu items as well as recommend some of their favorites.

Everything we ordered was extremely good. Our favorite things were the passionfruit mousse and the cohxinas. I can honestly say I had never had anything like them before, but I will definitely be going back to get more!

We also tried some orange cake, which was better than any orange cake I'd ever had. It had a very deep flavor. It was definitely not your average orange cake that only tastes like sugar and citrus.
