Benny's Family Dining — Restaurant in Ann Arbor

This was my first time going to Bennys in over a year due to Covid, I was very excited as I remembered it pretty decent for cheap. However, I was more than disappointed by my visit. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks(lemonade and milkshake), and finally got to order 30 minutes after being seated. Our waitress never checked back in on us and we waited over an hour after we ordered for our food. Everyone else around us has already eaten at this point and were leaving. We finally had to flag her down and ask how much longer. She looked pretty confused and went back to check and then told us 10 more minutes maybe. Apparently something had happened with our ticket and she messed it up. I get that it happens sometimes but I’m not sure how she didn’t realize one of her tables didn’t get food for over an hour. She said our drinks were on the house and we could leave if we were over it. We left without even getting our food because at that point we’d been there for 2 hours and had other things to do. My entire family decided to try Benny's on June 4, 2014 @ approximatley 5:15p.m. We were not greeted by the waitstaff upon entering the establishment, and it took almost 10 minutes for the lack of a better term waitress to give us the menus. When we did recieve the menus, the prices were ridiculous $2.25 for a soft drink (one refill only CANNOT BE TAKEN OUT) WOW! What a crock! Next thing we notice was that the hamburgers were around $5.00, just for the hamburger mind you, if you would like coleslaw and french fries it would be $3.50 more. Then the waitress came around to ask what we wanted to drink, we were having a conversation and didn't answer her fast enough, so she stated that we were getting water. She had a nasty attitude and someone who is dependent on tips should learn to say that when you get ready just wave or close your menus. Apparntley they have no class and other reviews say they need to clean up. Oh and the bathrooms are disgusting and the hand blower doesn't work! No paper towels either. Disgusting and won't be back. TOO OVER PRICED FOR LOW QUALITY FOOD...

The Food was awesome as always. But I got the feeling the server wasn't very happy with us because we only came in for milkshakes. Then decided to only order fries with that. We didn't go to eat out, just to spoil the kids with a milkshake. Waited between 15 to 20 minutes for 2 milkshakes with the fries delivered. Then had to wait almost another 5 to 7 minutes to get the last milkshake. Didn't mind because I know the fries might have taken a while. But then she also put immediately the bill down without even asking if we don't need anything else. F.Y.I I ALWAYS order a cup of coffee. But she didn't give me an opportunity. Another server had to bring catch-up for us for the fries after she saw I was looking around for catch-up. The server who took our order made me feel very unwelcome. I guess she thought that the less I order the less her tip will be. But I always give a tip according to attitude also. I think it might be a while before we go back there.
