This is the longest review I've ever written. And there's a good reason for it. Second time eating here. The food is what you would expect of basic chinese takeout. Nothing more, nothing less. But what earned this establishment a 1 star rating from me is the employees conduct. If I enter a restaurant and one of the employees stops dead in his tracks and stares at me with a look of shock for I kid you not, a solid 5 seconds, then never says anything, but continues to sweep while watching me the entire time... I know that look... as a POC, who came in to pick up an order close to closing, he thought I was menacing. (I already placed my order by phone before arriving) I was extremely uncomfortable, put-off and more than slightly annoyed. But because the location is so convenient, I decided to give them another try. This time, I ordered before 730 PM, No other customers and again was subjected to subpar service. I stood at the counter for 15 seconds waiting for one of the 2 staff to turn around and acknowledge me. The goth guy with the overdyed black hair finally turned around and said "what can I get you?" Not "sorry for the wait", not "hi, hello, how are you". And he seemed annoyed imo. So I give him my order, he gives me my total and I'm a penny short. I ask him if he has a penny and his reply is "uh no", while shaking his head. Ok, no problem. I give him another dollar and get back change. But it's what happens next that really cemented for me that I will never eat here again. After he gives me my change, he walks away and then throws my bag of crispy chips on the counter, proceeds to put my wonton soup in the container, after handling the dirty money, did not wash his hands and brings back the bag, sets it on the counter without one single word! Not nothing! Not thank you, come again, nothing! Then walks away. If you are a POC then you know exactly what I'm talking. If not, trust me when I tell you, this was racially motivated, prejudicial behavior in my opinion. A smart business model is to see the color of money, not...
Read moreOrdered fried rice for delivery. Was enjoying my fried rice until I came upon something "chewy" in my mouth. I reached in my mouth and pulled out a band-aid. The band-aid was still in a circle. This also indicates that the rice was being mixed by dirty hands. Absolutely disgusting! I called Lucky Kitchen to complain and when I did, nobody could speak English anymore.
---Update----The owner has offered a free meal on credit. However the meal I was served had a blood soaked band aid in my fried rice that was still in the shape of a circle. This meant that the cook was mixing the rice with their bare hands and the grease made the dirty band aid slip off their fingers into the food. That's how the band aid maintained it's circle in the shape of the cooks finger. If the cook used gloves to do the mixing, the band aid would have fallen into the glove and not the food. So I was fed dirty hand mixed rice with a blood soaked band aid that I chewed on and had to pull out of my mouth. The owner wants me to take a free meal?!!! No thanks. A refund with follow-up to the problem would have been a better solution. To serve me another meal is insulting. To further insult, when I called Lucky Kitchen to report this, all of the sudden nobody could speak English. They spoke English when I gave my delivery order and obviously someone can type English in their replies to Google reviews. The canned and pandering responses to the Google reviews from Lucky Kitchen show their lack of understanding the issues and unwillingness to...
Read moreI'm a pescatarian. I take very good care to read the menu and the ingredients. Hot and sour soup had chicken in it. I've never seen that. It was loaded with chicken -the only choice I had was spice level and yet they threw in chicken. The wonton? Overcooked and filled with pork. The wontons I am used to are filled with crab and cheese. Were the ingredients listed? Again, no. Additionally the wontons were overcooked. Even the fortune cookie was stale. I called and asked her to please replace the order with vegetarian food and she refused. She said, you didn't tell me you were a vegetarian- I said, I eat fish, that's why I ordered the crab wonton. But it was pork. She said wontons are always pork. I said how would I know that? You have to include the ingredients on your menu. And I ordered through Instacart, I didn't tell you anything. I didn't get any lunch and I am not a rich person so I'll be having cheese and...
