My husband and I went on their 3rd day being opened for our anniversary. The décor is so beautiful and makes for a great atmosphere for a romantic night out. We had a reservation and didn't wait long to be seated. We were greeted promptly by Brianna who was just the best server! Very friendly, great listener, informative, and extremely helpful. She even got our drink orders in just mins before happy hour ended. Gave us the complete rundown on how this unique restaurant worked. The salad bar isn't the biggest but has a variety of food to choices from both familiar to more exotic. All very fresh and kept cold. Soup and warm items were hot and kept covered. All counters and plates were clean. It didn't take long for the traveling meat waiters to come by with stakes of meat once we turn our coasters to the green sides. The meats were various cuts of beef, lamb, chicken and sausage. All fully cooked with the waiters either slicing or sliding off as much as you want. Portions are at least palm size. (I had 6 different kinds of meat) They were very good about asking how well done you wanted a piece they were about to cut. Easier to get Medium-Medium/Well but can accommodate well done(I didn't ask for well done) All cuts were juicy and good. I hope in the future they can offer fish as well. Every table also get 3 sides: a sizeable portion of mashed potatoes, French fries, and a cinnamon banana(plantain?) which is used as a palette cleanser. Also a basket of bread which were small and chewy. All were cooked and tasted very good. We left room for dessert in which all options(including a dessert liqueur) actually shown to you first on a giant platter. We got the Banana Fosters cake which was so moist and flavorful and a slice grilled banana. And since it was our anniversary, our plate was decorated with a congratulatory message of raspberry sauce. A wonderful complement to our meal. Overall, I loved my visit. The price is very high (about $130 with drinks for 2. Also sign up to get a coupon for your meal) but it's a buffet of all you can eat high quality meat, sides, and full salad bar. Drinks are made well too. It's more worth it to fill up on the meat offered than the sides and salad. But food tastes great, service was quick, restaurant was clean, décor is beautiful, and we were in an out in one hour with full bellies. Can't...
Read moreFront of the house needs lots of work. The hostess were down right rude. Heaven for bid if you are a walk in. You become sub par for the restaurant. We walked in at 5:30 and the told us we have a 2 hour wait due to reservations we check on line before we came and there was none available. We told them that would be fine and we except the 2 hour wait. They took our phone number and name down and we had 5 people. Before we left we asked them what time would they prefer us to come back and our 2 hour wait now moved to 8 pm they told us to show up by 7:45. We did that and when we checked back in they told us the still had reservations they had to seat it will be at least another 35 minutes for our 5 top. Upon our arrival there were two big tables that got up and left no one bussed those tables for an hour we asked the hostess she in a very rude tone said we told you you’re on a wait list we have to take care of the reservation first. There were two other tables that were cleared that could accommodate us already cleaned and reset. And we sat there until 8:15. And we approached the manager and told him what was going on he said we are waiting for a table to seat you at by 8:40 they finally sat us and at one of the table that was already cleared and reset at 7:45. The two tables that could have been bussed and reset still sat with dirty dishes at 9 pm. Those tables sat there dirty over an hour and half before someone started to clean them. Our server took our drink order and for got to bring our drinks half way we through the meal and was reminded twice. The table to the right of us had to get up and grab the pitcher of water and pour their own drinks. The best part was the food servers they went out of there way to make sure you got what kind of meat you would like and there were by far the friendliest people you could ask for. The bathroom needed someone to check on through out the night. Over all this is why I’m giving them a 3 star review. Management need work and hostess need schooling on how to treat their guests and the servers need to be more attentive for drinks. Food is wonderful as you would except from Texas De Brazil. The rest is not holding up to the franchise expectations. We will give them one more try in Ann Arbor. And hope they improve to the standards to their sister restaurants in Los Vegas...
Read moreLet me start by saying we have been coming to Texas de Brazil for the past 6 years for my birthday. We drive from Ohio with a large group and everyone always looks forward to it. In the past two years we switched from Detroit to Ann Arbor because people preferred having a lot to park in and not having to walk etc.
However, this will likely be our last time coming. We had 6:30 reservations for 10 at the Ann Arbor location. We checked in at 6 and they said they were getting everything ready for us. “No problem” and we waited. Well, come 6:30 they still weren’t ready for us. 6:45 still not ready, 7 STILL NOT READY.
At 7:13 PM they finally seated us and offered a bottle of wine as a way of saying sorry. None of us drink and they didnt even gove us a say in what we wanted and brought us some random bottle. So I kindly asked that we get a discount instead. They said they could offer free desserts instead. Everyone was okay with this so we agreed. At 7:26 we were FINALLY offered food and sure as shit, right at 8:00 on the dot they asked us if we were ready for desserts. Are you kidding me?? So not only did we not get a seated until almost an hour after our RESERVATIONS that we made well in advance, but you try to get us out the door not 40 minutes after we’ve got our first round of food?? lol
I kind of snapped at the waiter and it wasn’t his fault so I apologized and asked for the manager. I explained the situation and he said he’d be giving us all a discount, the heroes discount which 8/10 of us eating already were eligible for because of our professions. I explained this and they just kind of brushed it off and gave it to us anyway even though we were already eligible for it… they said the discount would be a better deal than free desserts anyway, which is wasn’t because the discount they gave us was only 10% OFF FOOD only and the desserts are like $15+.
Overall, the experience was not great and honestly left disappointed in the service...
