The food is really good but...
I came here with a friend for the lunch special during restaurant week. There were no customers in the restaurant so we were seated immediately. When the waitress asked if we wanted anything other than water I had asked if they have sparkling water, in response the waitress shook her head and stared at me. I asked what brand of sparkling water they have and she just continued to stare at me so I went with regular water. I still don't know if they have sparkling water or not.
We placed our order and waited for our food. The first course came out after the main dish but the presentation was very nice! During our time there our waitress asked us from across the restaurant if our food was okay and then she disappeared. I didn't see her at all after that. When we were done we sat there waiting for our dessert (included with the meal) and a to-go box. Nobody came to help us. It wasn't until we put our coats on and were heading out the door that we were acknowledged. We asked for our check, paid the bill and left.
Like I said, the food was good but our meal was not complete and the service is mediocre. There are plenty of other mouthwatering places to eat in Ann Arbor with...
Read moreI had their Easter brunch buffet today. Other than the lamb, the food was stone cold and not very good. Imagine cold Eggs Benedict on a cold, rubbery English muffin. Cold egg frittata. The Belgian waffle was inedible: it was mealy and the strawberry topping very fake and sickeningly sweet. The bacon was undercooked. The coffee was good, and it's hard to hurt a mimosa. The surroundings were nice (although don't sit in the bar area unless you have really long legs---your feet will hang down with nothing to rest upon and go to sleep). The staff was very, very nice. The manager did give me a discount because my food was cold. Because of this, I thought about not posting this review. However, the meal was very expensive ($45 for one person, including tip), and I left about half of my plate of food. I didn't even go back for the desserts. I thought they should have comped the bill. I figured I should...
Read more3 of us were staying in the attached hotel and as a rule I almost never eat in the hotel. They are almost always over priced and disappointing quality. But we had tight time constraints and had no choice, very glad we had the reason to try this place out.
For dinner I had some beef short ribs with parsnip puree and Brussels sprouts. Perfectly cooked, wonderful sauce and sprouts were a nice compliment. For lunch I had a Salmon BLT and was prepared to get overcooked fish because I forgot to tell them I like it rare. But it was cooked medium rare and was moist and flakey.
At night we got to hang out with the funny, wise cracking old school bar tender. Every bar needs a guy like this to make it feel like a bar.
Cook came out to get an after shift drink and we talked for a bit, he really cares about his craft and is good at it.
Definitely check...
