A Hidden Gem in Ann Arbor - Flavor, Vibes & Great Company
What an incredible experience! I stopped in for a casual bite with some girlfriends after going to pilates down the street & ended up having one of the most memorable evenings thanks to the food, drinks, and the warm hospitality - especially from Jaden, the bartender, who was an absolute gem. Friendly, knowledgeable, and so welcoming, she really elevated the experience.
I started with the Bresaola and Cheese board & added a side of raspberry jam (which was recommended by Jaden), a decision I highly recommend. The cured meat was delicate and flavorful, perfectly balanced with the creamy richness of the cheese. The raspberry jam added a sweet-tart brightness that tied everything together beautifully. A sophisticated yet comforting starter.
Next up: the drinks! The first was the Wakey Wakey! - a bold, smoky-meets-bitter cocktail with depth and complexity. The mezcal and spiced rum gave it a warm, sultry kick, while the real espresso shot and demerara brought rich coffee notes and a hint of sweetness. The grapefruit added just enough citrus to lift the drink and keep it balanced. If you like your cocktails with character, this oneās for you.
The second cocktail, Thistle and Thorn, was a complete contrast in the best way - bright, floral, and slightly spicy. The strawberry rhubarb aquavit was so unique and played well with the rhubarb and Cocchi Rosa. The jalapeƱo, honey, and lime gave it a sweet heat that lingered just enough without overpowering. Refreshing and layered.
For dinner, I had the Reuben, and wow - what a sandwich. The corned beef was tender and flavorful, the Brinery sauerkraut added the perfect tang, and the house-made Russian dressing brought everything together with a creamy, savory punch. The rye bread, grilled to perfection, had that lovely crunch and richness from the olive oil, with a touch of sea salt and pepper that enhanced every bite. Easily one of the best Reubens Iāve had.
The ambiance is cozy and stylish - great for a date night, solo treat, or catching up with friends. Iāll absolutely be back to explore more of the menu and catch up with Jaden again....

Go to Fenton to the Laundry. they started out as a place called The French laundry in Fenton and they were a coffee shop probably the size of the little area up by your front bar and prep station. All they had was a deli, and they serve pretty much just sandwiches.
10 bucks or $9 or $8 would get you a gigantic, I'm going to be full when I eat this, sandwich. Your $12 sandwich, that I just got was pretty darn good, but you got a double the size on that thing if you want people to come back for it. There's no way that you're even close to losing money on that little, normal size sandwich that I just got for almost $13.
people aren't going to complain about it they're just going to feel ripped off and then they're going to quietly leave and not come back for your food. So if you're trying to make a statement by charging $12 for that sandwich, do it, but make a statement when the food comes out too and make me feel like I just got my $12 worth. Because at this point, I was actually thinking about getting a beer too but I was so underwhelmed by the value of the sandwich that I got I had second thoughts.
feel free to let me know when you decide to improve upon your sandwich a bit and I'll stop back by and check it out. I even had my phone out and everything to take a picture, but the sandwich was so meh that I didn't bother. Like I said, it was good, but I could do just as well at homewithout much effort, and if I were to spend $12 I would be able to make about 10 of the sandwiches that I got from you.
put it into perspective, I can get some of the best burgers on Earth for less than $12. Your sandwich for $12 or almost $13? Not even close not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow!! My boyfriend and I came here for the first time today, roaming the city with which I am a resident: my boyfriend is from Royal Oak. I could tell he was not going to settle for any āol meal off the street. He was taken aback by the menu style but was intrigued by the options. The main dining room is buzzing with chatter and cheer over meals meats and vegetables made with true mindfulness.
The space and the seating was copious, the drinks range from awesome to even more awesome. Try the ākarate chimpā if youāre into something a little fruity. The Guest Services staff at all register order and pay stops were exceptionally well behaved in their hats as employees. Everyone that works here is quite literally iconic looking. There is a beautiful black and white portrait of Nelson Mandela in one of the more intimate corners of the space that is approximately 4-5,000sq/ft. Kasha was working the dining room as service and tender and Lordy, was it a pleasure to see her work with another coworker to manage and maintain the restaurantās atmosphere. This is a GREAT place for ANY occasion. Personal, business, pleasure, party, etc. ! Thank you, YORK Food and Drink for your...
