So this spot has been on my list for a good MINUTE (a while) now!! I finally took the flight (metaphor for a long drive) out to Annapolis to get at their family owned business. Their Strawberry Shortcake Cup (with strawberries, cream, & yellow cake). DELICIOUS. Tasty, chilled, & sweet.

Their Chocolate Brownie Explosion Cup (with brownies, cream, & chocolate pudding). LIKE THAT!! Creamy, & chocolaty…fudge was on the inside!!

Their Pumpkin Pie (with pumpkin pie cake crumbles, & cream). LIKE THAT!! Caught me off guard!! It was NOT dry, but thick & sweet!!

Their Caramel Cheesecake (caramel cheesecake with pie crumbles, & caramel drizzle). STAMP!! Soft cheesecake, buttery, & creamy!! YES!!

Their Pecan Cheesecake Delight (with vanilla cheesecake, pie crumbles, cream, & pecans). STAMP!! I tasted maple, coupled with that vanilla, & pecans…WINNING!!

Their Pumpkin Cheesecake Jar (with pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin pie filling, & cream $8.99). STAMP!! My FAVORITE!! Silky, smooth, sweet…THIS!!

Their Oreo Cheesecake Jar (with vanilla cheesecake, cream, & fudge Oreo crumbles $8.99). STAMP!! An Oreo cookie CHEESECAKE!!

Their Delicious Cookies 2 for $5 Snickerdoodles-DELICIOUS. Don’t hold me, I’m bias to Iverson Malls snickerdoodle “Sugar” cookies!! Theirs was good though!!

Chocolate Chip-LIKE THAT!! Moist, chocolaty, tasty!!

Their Specialty Cookies $3.99 each S’mores-STAMP!! Rich with gooey marshmallow!!

Banana Pudding-STAMP!! Aye…this taste just like Banana pudding!! Just a cookie!!

This week, I’ve been making a point to support small businesses around Baltimore. While leaving Annapolis Mall, I came across a spot I hadn’t heard of before. I checked their listed closing time on my phone—9:00 PM. It was 8:45 PM at the time, and although I had shopping bags in hand, I decided to place them in my car and drive closer to the shop.

After doing all that, I approached the counter at 8:53 PM, only to find the store nearly dark. I noticed desserts still in the case and felt excited to try something new. Just then, a young woman wearing a mask approached the register and began counting money. I asked, “Hi, are you closed?” She briefly looked up, nodded yes, and continued counting without saying a word.

I checked my phone again—8:54 PM—and walked away feeling disappointed. As someone who has worked in retail and customer service, I believe store hours should be honored. If a business posts that it closes at 9:00 PM, it should remain open until then—not 8:50, 8:51, or 8:52.

In today’s challenging economy, where every dollar counts and prices continue to rise, I believe it’s important to spend money where customer appreciation is clearly...

When you're in the mood to satisfy all your sweet desires, head on out to Freakin Sweet Jars located at Westfield Annapolis Mall. This black woman owned and family run store is worth the trip! Forewarning: don't go hungry.

Cake and cheesecake jars are their flagship products, and please don't leave without one. The caramel brownie cheesecake jar reigns supreme for me! But their cookie and cake pop game is just as good! The choc chips were pure heaven - perfectly soft. And the specialty cookies were amazing. That peach cobbler...chef's kiss.
