My family and I went and did the Quest room, and it was a lot of fun. We finished with just over 1 minute left! Casper was our game master and he was awesome. He was communicative throughout the whole process from our arrival all the way to when we left. Before we started the room, he promptly greeted us and gave us a rundown of everything we needed to do before we started and where everything in the building was (i.e. how to sign the waivers, how to use the locker, what was required for us to leave outside of the room, showed us where every room was, where the bathroom was, as well as where to hang our coats). Before we started the room he broke down everything with the process and explained the rules. He was very personable and had great energy about him that made my family and I feel very comfortable and made us that much more excited to play the room! Throughout the room play-through Casper was very prompt with delivering the clues whenever we called for them, and then afterwards he greeted and congratulated us all upon completion of the room. He made us feel very accomplished and satisfied with our play-through. Casper was open to our questions and conversation before and after the fact, and gave us a lot of insight on the Quest room we completed as well as all the other rooms EscapeTime has to offer at not just the Annapolis location, but all 3 of the locations. Casper also offered to take pictures for us in front of the EscapeTime logo and the poster for the Quest room that we did. Casper honestly made the experience a lot more enjoyable than I expected (and i already had high expectations!). Casper was super friendly and overall out of every escape room i have ever done, personally, he was the best and most enjoyable game master that I’ve ever experienced. Casper was thoughtful, kind, helpful, and proactive in the ways in which he guided us through each part of the experience. Talking to him felt like catching up with an old friend, but only we had never met him before, haha. Overall the entire experience was great, and Casper had a lot to do with that. I cannot wait to go back with my family and complete the other rooms, and i just hope that whenever we do that we have Casper there as our game master. 5 stars for Escape Time and 100 stars for Casper 😎 Can’t wait to go back and complete the other rooms with him at the helm as...
Read moreBy far the worst location and escape room I have ever visited. The location had a poor smell...like a musty cat if I’m being honest. The staff were borderline rude to us from the moment we walked in. Regardless, we were excited to introduce our friend to her first escape room on her birthday day and had the absolute most disappointing experience possible. We are not local to the area and it took a lot of effort to get out and have a girls day to celebrate our friend and at $40 a person (an above average price for the 15+ rooms I've done in different locations/states) the stakes were high to have a nice time and it was absolutely the worst it could have possibly been. We chose the Atlantis room. It was very bare bones - not much to do and the "decor" was lackluster. Multiple props did not work properly causing us to waste a lot of time doing what we were supposed to do and the prop not responding. Only one puzzle to "solve " at a time (quite boring for more than 2 people) and most of the solutions barely made logical sense. THEN, upon entering the second room we found an OPEN cabinet. Not just unlocked - OPEN. We used what was inside only to discover that was the last clue to the room, essentially ruining the entire experience. A staff member came in, blamed it on a "power outage" hours earlier in the day (literally makes no sense, and even if that WAS the reason - the room should be checked and set up properly before every paying group begins so this was obviously a staff error), locked the cabinet and said we could continue on but...what fun is an "adventure" if you already know the ending. A very very LAME waste of money. Upon notifying the owners we got told that because we "chose" to continue on with the experience they will not be offering us a refund. If a refund was offered to us we would have GLADLY walked away once the game was ruined through to staff negligence....
Read moreI booked this room for my birthday after trying a few other escape room companies and found this one to be quite disappointing. Not only was the decor in the Atlantis room cheap and ridiculous looking, some of the electronics appeared to not be working correctly which led to a lot of wasted time and confusion. Some of the "puzzles" were extremely confusing and not even slightly intuitive. Every hint we requested suggested we do exactly what we were already doing which means the puzzles were more confusing and counterintuitive than neccessary. The second room wasn't even painted with cheap plants taped all over the walls and the lighting created difficulties seeing the next clue. From the chipped paint, broken items, to the ridiculous hand made props, the whole experience was underwhelming and a waste of money. Despite all of this, we managed to almost beat the room which also shows the lack of depth and puzzles within the convoluted room. Not to mention the story was silly and lacked any real intrigue or context which made it feel less immersive and more pointless which takes away from the excitement of an escape room. And after telling the employee that worked there about my opinion, she simply walked away and said nothing. I found that to be rude and poor customer service as well. I will never spend my money at EscapeTime again. Quite a disappointing...
