I just left Honeygrow and I had the garlic butter chicken dish. I substituted the chicken for steak. Here’s my impression: I did not like the dish. The guy who was assisting people at the kiosk was giving me a bit of an explanation on the dishes and he said that the garlic butter chicken was one of the most popular. When I saw that it was in a garlic butter sauce. I got excited and decided to go with that one. However, I was thinking more along the French cuisine because this garlic butter sauce look more like a peanut sauce. I could not finish the dish because it was an excessive amount of chili pepper flake sauce on it, which made the dish gritty and very very greasy. I was also unhappy with paying extra for the steak substitute when it was really just roast beef slices. At least that’s what it taste like. It did not have a steak flavor. it had a roast beef lunch meat flavor. Everyone was very friendly and the GM Greg was walking around personally greeting people. When I told him my thoughts on the garlic butter chicken dish, he agreed that he had the same experience when he taste that chili pepper sauce. It wasn’t that it was too hot. The heat was mild somewhat. But it did leave a sandy and very oily texture . At some point, I began to scrape that off of my vegetables and meat and push all of my food to one side so that there was just be a puddle of grease and chili pepper separated. I did not finish the dish. It really was disappointing. And for that to be one of the most popular out of only five stirfry choices. I don’t know if I’ll be back. But who knows. They also have salads, desserts and a Create Your Own...
Read moreI received the wrong food in my bag and called and was told to wait outside for my order to be brought out. I waited about 20 minutes for it to be corrected, and then when I called to let them know I was still waiting, I realized they havent even started on my order. Then i waited 15 minutes and called again, and then they said they heard my name wrong and prepared the wrong order, so I waited 20 more minutes for my food to be brought out. I got tired of waiting and called back and was told that they thought i had left since i told them i couldn't keep waiting much longer. so they never made the order. At this point, I asked him why would I just leave without at least a refund?? He proceeded to tell me to wait ten more minutes because he was knee-deep in orders. I ordered originally at 11:21, and the final call I made was at 12:33. By that time, I told him to just refund me as I am extremely disappointed with the lack of accountability, and I wasted an hour waiting for them to never fix my order. I am allergic to seafood and was given food with shrimp which good thing i didn't eat it without looking inside. This was my first time ordering from honeygrow, and this left a really...
Read morethe honeygrow restaurant itself and its employees is wonderful. the food, however, is another story. i ordered the garlic butter shrimp noodles, sesame garlic steak noodles and sweet soy five spice rice. my family and i wanted to try multiple things and we couldn't decide, so we each tried each others' dishes.
the first issue was that the shrimp was super fishy and tasted off, which made me sick. the garlic butter sauce is meh at best. the chili crisps are horrible. i've had chili crisps on many of my own home made cooked dishes and it didn't taste like that. it didn't mix well and was quite clumpy. the other dishes- the rice had too much red onion and made the dish taste weird. id get it again without that in it.
the only thing tolerable was the sesame garlic steak noodle dish. it was more than tolerable-it was delicious! in addition, the dishes came in small chinese food container type things with the hg logo on it. they are very small portions-which is fine, if the price was reflected in that... it's very pricey for what you get. not worth the money or your time, in my opinion. the food was not great. the location and employees were...
