My friends and I (a group of African Americans) stopped by this location in Annapolis during happy hour at the end of the day coming from a conference, just wanting to unwind. Our waiter was a guy named Iam. He was extremely helpful and really just a great guy. The problem came when we tried to play music on the juke box. Right in the middle of putting money in the machine and selecting our songs, the bartender, Dwayne, a real ass-whole of a guy, came up behind us and with a remote control, turned the juke box off in the middle of our songs playing, without saying anything to us. He just walked away leaving us standing at the juke box wondering what was going on. He went back to the bar and continued to mix drinks without saying a word to us. We had to actually go to him and ask what was going on; why did he turn our music off? His response was very nonchalant. He said that the hockey game was on and nobody wanted to hear the music while the game was on. He didn't ask us if we would mind or even warn us of what he was doing. Even though he saw 3 of us standing in front of the juke box selecting songs, he didn't feel the need to say anything to us, just rudely flicked off the power and went back to work. Of course, we demanded the money back that we had put into the machine, then asked to speak to the manager. Dwayne was very unprofessional, rude and inconsiderate. The manager, Michael Rock, finally comes out, apologizing for his employees rudeness, but we still got the feeling that the employees were in charge and that Mike had no control. I felt almost as if we were in Starbucks with their recent discrimination incident and management had no control. My group was planning on returning for lunch the next day, with even more people, but after this encounter, there is no way we will return. Even though Mike gave us a discount on the drinks for his employees behavior, seeing that this guy cost his business money and his disrespect reflects on their reputation, it's a shame that this kind of behavior would be tolerated by management. SHAME ON YOU MICHAEL...
Read moreIt wasn't our best experience at BWW. Took forever to be waited on. Took forever to be served. And we were there between 5-6 PM. You'd think they would be ready. Seemed management had the two servers, who should have been more than adequate for the small crowd, doing other things around the restaurant. The server forgot part of our order. We had to wait for it to be ready. The food was cooked and came hot but seemed to be slightly undercooked. We had to flag down the server to get napkins and refills. We had no issue getting the check, however. Though the server was slow, bringing change back.
11 May 2024, decided to try this place again. Bad idea. Got there just before 4:00. Dining area was closed off. Bar area only. The lady bartender was also the only server. The manager was walking around changing the large TVs to the OKC vs Dallas basketball game when the Oriels were due to start at 4:05. They were on a couple of the smaller TVs. Got served fast. Bartender/waitress had a major attitude thing going on. Probably because she was on her own. We were served in a decent amount of time. Food was good. The manager disappeared when the tables started to fill up. We kept trying to flag down the Bartender/waitress down for refills. Noticed that she was sharing her bad attitude with the rest of the customers. Never got refills. Eventually, she stopped by to check on us. We asked for a box and the bill. Shouldn't have but we did tip 15%. My wife tried to hand it to her but the bartender/waitress sped on by. So my wife said that she'd leave it on the table. We left. Noticed the waitress looking out the window at us. Maybe she missed the payment being on the table? We waited to give her time to find it or come running after us. Bad experience.
We'll be back because we love BWW and have been going for years. But NOT to this one after two Bad experiences 10 months apart. (Fool me twice.) Arundel Mills and Whitemarsh aren't...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came last night to take advantage of the Veterans Day dinner deal this location was offering. When we first walked in we were greeted warmly, but his attitude changed dramatically as soon as we asked for a booth. He told us they didnât have any âcleanâ ones so we asked if we could have one cleaned and thatâs when his attitude got worse. He came back a couple minutes later with two menus and just waved for us to follow him. He took us to a section towards the back of the restaurant. Just walking to the booth we noticed how dirty the floor was - fries, straw wrappers, etc. were scattered everywhere along with dirty tables that took up the whole section. The host didnât say anything to us just threw the menus on the table and walked away. We waited close to 15-20 minutes before we had to flag down a waitress ourselves. She was extremely apologetic and accommodating. She said that the section we were placed in wasnât assigned to anyone but she would be more than happy to take care of us. Honestly if it wasnât for her service, we would have walked out. The food itself was sub par - my boyfriend got the small portion of the Asian zing wings with fries and I got a crispy chicken wrap with fries. All in all the restaurant was dirty, the host seemed to be visibly upset by our simple request just to be seated in a booth, and the food was nothing to write home about. Iâd like to give our waitress credit because nothing she did was wrong - her name is Liz and like I said if it wasnât for her service we would have left. Very disappointing visit all around especially coming in for the Veterans Day holiday. We were hopeful that the Annapolis location would have a better atmosphere than the other locations, but we were obviously wrong. In the future we will not be returning back to...
