I recently quit working here as a delivery driver. I left because of all the health code violations and the fact that the owner only cares about getting the next order. At one point no one had any way to dry their hands because we had no paper towels for over a week. The cooks rarely wash their hands and if they do they don't use soap. When I left the toilet was on the fifth day of not working even though someone had offered to fix it for a very reasonable $60. Food is kept out all day with no refrigeration. Chemicals are sprayed extremely close to open food. Last week I saw a cook using a saw in the kitchen right next to open food sawdust going everywhere. The worst thing that I saw was the owner using a container from the kitchen to empty the overflowing toilet and then use it in the kitchen again. Your credit card numbers are not safe. I have had many customers complain about the credit card numbers being on the receipt that drivers are careless about, this includes the security code on the back the entire number and your address. More than 1 driver has been caught stealing and the worse part is that driver was fired and then hired back because the place is so bad they can't keep anyone who isn't a thief or a complete slob. I imagine the reason this place is still in business is most of the orders are by delivery. If they saw what was actually going on I doubt that would...
Read moreEDIT: I think the restaurant I originally left this review on is no longer operational and this review is somehow now on an different restaurant with the same name. Since I'm not sure if the restaurant just moved or it's an entirely new business, I'm adding this edit and changing the review to 3 stars as I haven't been there.
I'm not usually one to complain if something minor is wrong at a retail or food service establishment, because I know how hard employees usually have it, but I've had a problem with China Wok that I can't ignore. My family has eaten here regularly for years, and the food has been pretty good. However TWICE in the last month I have found small pieces of metal in my food. Last month there was a metal staple in my lo mein, and today there was a small piece of metal string in my fried rice. Both times I didn't notice until the food was in my mouth and I pulled them out in horror when I noticed they were there. The first time I figured was probably a one-off error by a new employee or a mistake that won't be repeated, but now that it's happened twice I don't think I can ever eat there again. If I had swallowed them, I could have suffered damage to my internal tissues. Bad interpersonal service or long wait times are annoying but manageable problems that I fortunately have never had here. Food safety is something I can't...
Read moreYour credit card numbers are perfectly safe!!!!!! I am a delivery driver at China Wok and I can tell you from the bottom of my heart, your credit info is in good hands. The information is printed once on the order sheet that is used in store and then placed along side your order and returned to you with your delivery. Everybody working at this store is a responsible adult. When you order pizza hut, Dominos, Jimmy John's, etc your credit card info is seen by their staff. I promise you it's safer here than with the teenagers working at those stores!!! I've been a driver at all those giant corporate restaurants and there was theft at everyone of them. The family that owns China Wok are painfully honest. When I cash out for the night the owner insists that I take $50.48 (for example) if that is what I'm owed for tips. When I say, "fifty is fine" she says no and gives me every last penny.I've never worked with such honest people.
Also, the food is awesome. Everything is made from scratch. Everyday I watch them slice actual chicken breasts and use fresh veggies. You're not eating that when you...
