Danno's Ibiza West — Restaurant in Anoka

I'd like to leave a review of this bar. No stars. If anyone would like to look at some past reviews they will see it's already been commented on by others. On Friday I went here with 20$ only and ordered one single drink. Rum and Coke to be exact. I paid up front and my drink was poured. I didn't touch my drink and waited for my change. Upon not receiving my change I asked for it back and the bartender must have thought I was drunk and stupid (I'm sure most of us have had a bartender not bring change back on a busy night) because I requested it back and he looked at me like an idiot. Another case of a sober bartender trying to take advantage of people. Upon this I was promptly told that I do this all of the time. I had never been to Dannos or any bar in Anoka, ever. I offered to show my ID to change this and they refused. I was then escorted out of the building and tried to tell the security the same thing, at this point all I wanted was for my group to be informed of this and my 20$ back. Whoever was in charge that night let's their staff run rampant. I work in customer service and this is plain unprofessional . If you will note. I DID spend a majority of the time I was forced outside giving the staff The Bird. They stole all of my stuff they may as well have that too. I was not "drunk" because I went to another bar and got in fine and was served just fine for the remainder of the night.

I’ve known Dan the owner for a while I drank at the bar when he worked as the bartender at Billy’s. He took over ownership of this bar from when it was beer bellies and it’s a-lot better now. The mural on the front dressed it up but it’s still is a true dive bar. With good cheap priced burgers. It’s a somewhat smaller place but cozy and fun. I don’t drink anymore but I just want to say Dan is outstanding. I’ve seen him diffuse a lot of situations. He’s extremely patient and calm honestly I don’t know how he does it handling people when they’re too drunk especially when they get out of control but he’s awesome and handles it with grace. He’s always been one of my fav people I met in downtown anoka. I’m so happy he bought this place and turned it into a much better establishment. I don’t really drop by much anymore because I moved but I just want people to know. Dan is so kind hearted really cares about the people he’s serving. I just really hope you are lucky enough to meet him. He never drinks at his bar either I’ve never seen him have a drink before. The owners in the past would always be drinking at the bar. Honestly the previous owner creeped me out. They made the waitresses dress trashy and degrade them. There is a lot more to that but we’d be here for a while. Bouncer are selective and very rude to people I was there with family walked out to smoke and he wouldn't let me back in for my stuff. Bar is no better then the last considering they didn't wipe out the staff, that made the last place a slime hole. Has potential but don't see it lasting long with the way they treat long time customers that live in the area. As you see by comments even the owner can't handle situations properly and only responds in a business matter to the nice comments. Doesn't address anyone stating a issue just says its untrue or you're false. If you look below my review you can see what I stated about the owner is actually true he's just in denial. Update : Havent been back since that was a year ago even urge people not to go. Go to serums better food better service and I have called multiple city complaints on them I honestly urge all with my experience to do the same everyone deserves respect not just some enough complaints can cause the city to investigate then shut down is what I was told.
