Asian Harbor — Restaurant in Antioch

I loved it! Last night I went out with a couple of my friends for a causal Friday night dinner. It was our first time here so we didn’t know what we were expecting. Well to say the least we were extremely pleased. Upon our arrival, we almost got immediately seated into a booth and the drinks were delivered. The staff was in no rush and didn’t hurry us and was very patient in explaining the menu to us. After we had ordered, I ordered the Dragon Roll, Avocado Salad, and udon and then my friends ordered some other things, our sushi rolls arrived really quickly. We were amazed by how good it was and the quality of the sushi roll. I was digging in, mind you, and we almost cleared the entire thing before our main entrees arrived. I loved my avocado salad and udon noodles, so I would def be getting it next time I go there too. I’ll probably venture out and try some other food as it all looks so good and I’m quite indecisive. My friends got their entrees too, I assumed one of it was a stir fry with meats and vegetables and one other got fried rice. I tried some and it was good! Very good actually! I have tried multiple times to enjoy this place and I just cannot. The last time was the final straw. We ordered two separate rolls. The rice was so ungodly dry. We ordered the lobster roll and the lobster resembled jerky. We could barely eat it. We had a few piece that is trying to force it down and finally couldn't take it anymore so we sent it back when we got the bill. They charged us full price because they said we ate a few pieces now again we were trying to eat it and not complain so I said OK. Understandable then at least take one off and they refused and said we should've sent it back right away. Our server was so slow that we didn't have an opportunity to send it back until almost the end of our meal. I will never go back. Food was delivered so review on that only. This is some weird ass versions of Thai cuisine, of which nothing about it is Thai.

The Pad Thai is quite atrocious. They use ketchup for the sauce and toss in both green and white onion with a protein of choice. The onions were putrid looking. There were no crushed peanuts or bean sprouts. The flavor had no evidence of tamarind, fish sauce or garlic.

Pad see ew was even worse. I’ve never had the dish (and I’ve been to many Thai places) with mushrooms and, get this: cucumbers! Cucumbers are quite disgusting when stir fried. The taste like limp eels. Just no.

My guess is that this a Chinese establishment masquerading as pan-Asian offering Japanese and Thai. Even the Chinese dishes were sub-par. At least the chicken wasn’t overcooked and...
