True Gem Alert! I just discovered the most incredible sweet spot in Antioch - Papa's Treat Shoppe! This charming old-fashioned ice cream parlor is a must-visit destination for anyone with a sweet tooth and a love for local flair. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted with a warm welcome by Papa himself, who's clearly passionate about his business and dedicated to serving up the best treats in town. The shop is a treasure trove of old-school candies, artisanal goods, and of course, the most divine ice cream creations. The pièce de résistance? Their show-stopping rolled ice cream that's almost too beautiful to eat (almost!). I haven't tried it yet, but trust me, it's on my list for the next visit - and there will be many! What sets Papa's Treat Shoppe apart is its commitment to supporting local artisans, whose wares are showcased throughout the shop. It's a true community hub that's all about celebrating the best of Antioch. Do yourself a favor and get to Papa's Treat Shoppe ASAP. Your taste buds (and your sense of community) will thank you. I'll be back, again and again! Rating: 5/5 stars Will I return? Absolutely, and with friends! Must-try: Rolled ice cream (next on my list!) Papa's Treat Shoppe, you've won my heart (and taste buds)!...
Read moreI wish I was able to post videos on here to show the store more. The owner was wonderful, I spoke with him for quite a bit, you can tell how passionate he is and is very accommodating. They have treats, bakery, ice cream, slushies, decor, jewelry, candles, jerky, old school candy and many more. Very impressed for my first time going there. The owner took his time walking me around the store and gave me a little tour. Which I really appreciated. There's plenty of room for everyone between families, friends, (also a nice spot for cute little dates), they have booths, chairs and tables inside and outside. You couldn't ask for anything better. I used to go to the candy shop on main St my whole life and recently Hansen's in wilmot area the past 3 years but Papas exceeds both places by far. (not to bash the other places but Papas Treats is the place to go to) 12/10 take a trip you won't regret it. I wish I went sooner after visiting...
Read moreThough they have been open since July 2024, we decided to stop in and get some ice cream and a shake today. She got a Frooty Loopy rolled ice cream, and I had a coffee shake.
We met Papa, who seems like a really cool guy. This place has a 50's ice cream shop vibe, but they also have some pastries. They just got a donut machine and will soon have donuts too!
There is a player piano from the 1850"s in the one corner with a bunch of player rolls.
I love the gumball machines with all the different candies. No need to take it to the register, as you pay at the machine....so cool!!!!
The only drawback (which didn't bother us one bit) is they are still making improvements to the business.; so it will ONLY get better from here. Get there while there isn't a line...
