Recently, my friends and family surprised me with a shower, and they chose The Cranky Yankee for the cake and party favors—custom cookies. Everything was absolutely delicious! The cake was not only stunningly decorated to match the theme and color scheme but also full of flavor. The cookies were a huge hit—everyone loved them, and not a single one was left behind.

What made the experience even more meaningful was the baker’s personal touch. She took the time to ask about my flavor preferences and learn a bit about me. When my friends mentioned that I’m Albanian, she immediately suggested incorporating an Albanian cookie recipe. She did her own research and recreated a traditional treat just like we would serve at celebrations back home. I was so touched by her thoughtfulness! She even went the extra mile and shared the recipe with my friends.

I don’t even know where to begin! I went here because my parent, husband and I ate at Salem Street Pub (also amazing). We got into chatting over dinner about baked goods from NY, specifically rainbow cookies.

Well, we stopped here on the walk back to our car and met Lisa, the owner and rainbow cookies extraordinaire. OH MY GOSH!! I’ve never had a better rainbow cookie, even from Bleeker St in Manhattan. I think everyone who worked there thought I was a bit crazy because of the way I was reacting to their taste. Not only did Lisa chat with us and appreciated my reaction, but she acted like we’d known her for years. Truly the best rainbow cookies. Next up, cannolis!!
