I brought in two rings to get resized, both in fantastic condition when they were brought in. When I received them, the bands were incredibly thin. I mentioned this to the jeweler, she said it was normal and that the only thing to do would be replacing the shank. I accepted the rings back and held my tongue that they were not brought in at that level of thinness. About a month after, one ring snapped in the back in half. When I brought it back in, the same jeweler mentioned it just was not balanced and said she would reconnect and balance free of charge. She did not even reconnect it at the original size I had it resized to. No longer trusting the jeweler, I brought my rings to another jeweler and mentioned this interaction. They said that an inexperienced jeweler new to resizing must have resized my rings as competent and skilled jewelers would not cause a perfectly good ring to have to be reshanked after a single resizing. All in all, I ended up getting both rings reshanked at the new jeweler and the one that snapped resized to the correct size. My original bill at Virtuoso came out to around $249+ dollars for shoddy work, then having to get them reshanked cost me $548. Don’t waste an extra $500 by getting them resized here. Just go some place better from the beginning.
Edit: Larry has reached out to make this right, however has left me on read for a few days now. I will update if further actions are taken to make this right with...
Read moreLarry is phenomenal. I went to him inquiring about creating a custom engagement ring using an heirloom diamond for my now fiancée. He is very knowledgeable about the world of jewelry and was able to take a design I had in my head and make it a reality with his added flair. The process was straightforward, and although I thought I had too quick of a timeline, Larry was able to finish the ring with a few days to spare. It is truly amazing to now have a custom piece that’s built to last generations, which my fiancée and I can pass down in the future. During pickup, he had the appraisal ready from his appraiser so I could get the ring insured immediately upon receiving it. He also resized the ring at no charge...
Read moreLarry was very kind, helpful and informative. Specializes in custom jewelry design but does repairs as well. If you want your jewelry carefully and skillfully worked on, this is the place to go! Repairs aren't typically 1 day "fast" turnaround, but I think of it like this: Either you can go to a master jeweler like Larry who will repair/design your jewelry to last a lifetime, orrrr you can go to any of the 'McDonald's jewelry stores' (Zales, Kay's, Jared's, the chain stores really) for the cheap stuff and cheap repairs that will fall apart within a year. I prefer quality, personally. Thank...
