Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Apopka

Visited the first time and waited what seemed like forever because they had one person working. As the employee made our ice cream the power to the building went out so the register wasn’t working to take payment, she called her manager on her cell phone and explained what was going on. The manager said to Zelle or Venmo them, and I just didn’t feel comfortable, so I gave her a $20 and said could we just come back and get an ice cream for the difference on another day. Was told to come by Friday and they will get us an ice cream for the difference since I couldn’t get change back. I came in a couple days later when I was told too, but the employee called out, we waited again to get service which seemed like forever again and I explained to the employee what happened. She went to the back to speak with her manager, and the manager said to the employee that they remembered me and they said they thought the difference which was about $10 was a gift so there for nothing could be done, haha so I paid for another ice cream and they cheated me out of $10. I think what disappointed me the most wasn’t the $10 but that the manager didn’t come out to address it with me, they kept sending out there employee to deliver messages back and forth. There ice cream is great but I wouldn’t recommend this location, if I really wanted some of there ice cream I would either drive further to another location or talk myself out of it and go to Jeremiah’s Italian ice cream, or go to Publix and just bring...

First I will say that the ice cream is NOT why this is 2 stars. I have eaten at Cold Stone for many years and their ice cream is generally top notch. This review is for the service.

On April 17 (a Thursday) I ordered an ice cream cake for my daughter’s 14th birthday, today, Tuesday, April 22. I was given no indication that there would be any issue with the time table or with the flavors. We were supposed to pick up the cake at noon for an afternoon party. We were texted at noon to tell us it couldn’t be ready at noon because that’s when they opened and it hadn’t been made yet. They texted again an hour later to tell us they didn’t have chocolate cake. The whole cake was chocolate themed so no other cake flavor made sense. We were told if we wanted chocolate then we would have to wait until 7pm! After my daughter’s party. If I had been given this info yesterday I could have tried something else but the day of, an hour before our gathering made it impossible to get what we wanted. They gave us favors (ice cream cups) to compensate. Completely unacceptable. We didn’t hear from them all afternoon and when my husband contacted them at 7pm we were told the cake had been done hours before but no one texted us to tell us it was ready.
