My first visit to D'Cerbonis was for lunch with my daughter. All I could see were open tables, but we had to wait almost 15 minutes to be seated. Chicken Parm w/spaghetti is my fave at any Italian restaurant, so I gave theirs a try. It was good. Nothing special, just good. The calamari sticks taste like they came from a box in the grocery store freezer section. The service was great though.
My second visit was dinner with both my kids. We were asked if we had reservations even though the place was mostly empty, so I still don't know if she was joking. She seated us after asking us to wait. The place never did full up while we were there. I ordered my Chicken Parm and this time it was really good! The server was very friendly. We had a really great meal and I really thought they had worked out the kinks in the kitchen.
Recently, we decided to pick dinner up and D'Cerbonis sounded good. Again the restaurant was mostly empty, but there was an agitated looking couple waiting to be seated. We could see employees standing around talking. It took almost 10 minutes for one of them to come to the hostess table. Finally got our food and headed home. I can honestly say, it was THE WORST Chicken Parm I've ever had. The sauce was super spicy to the point it had a bite. I've never had spicy hot marinara! Other than hot, it just tasted like tomato. The Parmesan on the chicken was non-existent and the chicken was tough. The calamari had icy cold spots, like it was thrown in for a hot second, but not actually cooked through before going in the container. None of us enjoyed the food. Hubby's shrimp scampi went into the trash. It was way too tart. Daughter's Alfredo sauce was lacking flavor. We spent $130 on severely disappointing food. This is the last time we'll be...
Read moreI really enjoyed lunch at this restaurant. I went there with two of my friends, kind of on the spur of the moment. The decor is nice and the wait staff is super pleasant. They are very attentive and friendly. They even brought samples of the various salad dressings so that we could make the best choices according to our tastes. We ordered 2 large pizzas, one meat lovers and one with pepperoni and a variety of veggies, including artichokes. We had soda for our drinks and the waitress was happy to bring us as many refills as we wanted. I have to say, these were two of the best pizzas I have ever had. The crust was a very chewy/crunchy yummy type of bread, so I even ate the outer ring of crust along with the inner part with the sauce, cheese and the toppings on it. The sauce was good tasting, the cheese was abundant, and the toppings (pepperoni, bacon, Italian sausage, meatballs on one pizza and pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, onions, artichokes on the other) were so generously spread around both pies that they were difficult to keep them from falling off the pizza slice as we were biting the slices. Now, let me say that this place is a nice restaurant, not like Papa John's or some lesser place like that. The large (they do also have an XL pizza) pizzas that we ordered cost about $26 each. So, for all three of us to have lunch cost about $90. That cost was for two large pizzas with numerous toppings, plus two salads, plus three drinks, plus two pieces of cheesecake. No cheesecake for me, because I am a diabetic. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at this restaurant. Oh yes, I am sorry to say that I can tell you nothing about the restroom facilities, because I did not visit the restroom while...
Read moreLast night, my friends and I dined at D' Cerboni's Ciao House in Apple Valley. It was my second time there.
I ordered the Selezione Di Pasta which is a build your own pasta kind of thing. You can choose from 10 different pastas and 10 different sauces. I chose linguini, Alfredo sauce, and added grilled chicken. It was delicious and quite filling. Everyone else seemed to enjoy what they ordered as well.
To top things off, we all ordered cannolis for desert. If you have room, I suggest ordering one.
I tasted the marinara sauce. It was quite savory. In the future, I could see ordering the Selezione Di Pasta with linguini, marinara sauce, and the Italian salsiccia (sausage) links. I bet that would be a great combination. I also tasted the sauce from the Pollo alla Marsala. I'm not much of a fan of sweet sauces but that was pretty good and I would probably order that for myself sometime.
One of these days, I would like to go back and try their pizza. I saw one on someone's table as we were being seated and it and it looked really good.
Our server was friendly and quite attentive. The ambiance is nice, especially with a little Dean Martin playing in the background. Overall, it was a...
