The Hide-a-Way should stay hidden! Not to say that it’s a bad bar, it’s just way overpriced for what it is. $5.50 for a rail mixed drink at a little hole in the wall dive bar? Who are they kidding?!? I’d expect those prices on the Ave not on Wisconsin, hidden behind U-Haul’s, with a gravel “parking” lot. First time I came here, my husband and I had a very nice experience with a very nice bartender. It seemed clean and had a good atmosphere. Went back a couple weeks later with some friends (drove from manitowoc) and not only did the bartenders on complain that we showed up and they couldn't close (it was like 9pm), but they were also heavily on hard drugs. It was very noticeable. They were not hygienic, they were extremely rude and made it very clear we were not welcome. Will never go back if these are the careless bartenders the owner decides to hire. My band went in to play an open mic night, and we were underage. When asked to leave we were compliant about it and said we will we just we finishing something up and heading out. The manager came over wasted and all in our faces. She started a problem. We weren’t hostile or anything and she was swearing at us telling us to never come back even if we were 21.
