Got home and was excited to start eating my bread, when I took out my receipt and noticed that the guy behind the counter charged me for an extra bread.
Always make sure to check your receipt people, they might sneak in an extra charge.
I purchased chocolate chip cookies, choco cookie bun, matcha choco bun, and two potatoes croquette. The choco cookie bun at first bite tasted okay and reminded me of cookies and cream flavor. However, as I kept eating it, it just didn't taste as good as the first bite. The top seems like a chocolate shell on top of the bread with it being coated with crumbs, which is really messy and hard to eat. I think they should have incorporated more of a chocolate flavor within the bread than to have a chocolate shell on top. The bread also seems a bit dry.
That matcha choco bun was whatevers to me too. The matcha flavor wasn't that strong and I was expecting more of a chocolate flavor with this bread too. There was just a small spread of chocolate chips within the bread mixed with the matcha cream. Not a fan.
The chocolate chip cookies were better than the other two. It was really soft, moist, and had a slight doughy texture to it. I believe they might have mixed in some oatmeal or something similar to the mix too, which I don't mind. I'm more likely to get this again, but not all the time.
The potato croquette was something I actually enjoyed. Luckily, it was also buy one, get 50% off. I only purchased two, but regretted getting the sweets instead of more of this. The inside is like mashed potatoes mixed with corn and I don't know what else, but all I can say is that I would go there...
Read moreUPDATE 6/3/23: I came and tried the sea salt foam matcha latte from their matcha series drink ($4.85 for large 22oz). The service was decent and drinks took maybe 3 minutes to be ready. Not a really long line to order and pay for bread.
Pre-ordered their Sweet Strawberry Cream chiffon cake for their Mother's Day special and green milk tea. The cake was $28.05 and not worth. If not for their special, I would not have ordered this. The pick up did not go smoothly. I had to wait around 15 minutes even though it was pre-ordered. I did get the cake and drinks in the end, but it was suspicious how long it took for them to retrieve my cake when it should have been ready.
HOWEVER, the cake was really disappointing. The creme brulee and strawberry mousse layers in the cake tasted icy and frozen! (Included a picture of the creme brulee layer that appears frozen and tasted icy) That shouldn't have been the case if it was made fresh that day for pickup, so that was very unsatisfactory. The cream and chiffon layers were alright though, not too sweet. Also, the cake was missing the "Happy Mother's Day" white chocolate sign even though the cake was advertised as having it for their special. Very disappointed in how the cake turned out. It seems like they just took the cake out of a freezer and gave it over.
Their green milk tea was also pretty decent, although it was a bit sweet. I will not be coming back for their cakes again, nor will I pre-order cakes...

As a loyal customer of 85 Degree, I have always had a great experience at your Arcadia (56 E Duarte Rd, Site 102, Arcadia, CA 91006). However, my recent encounter with Janay Barajas has left a bad taste in my mouth. Upon arriving at the store, my group and I stood in line waiting for our turn to order. Despite being ready to place our order, Janay Barajas completely ignored us and instead chose to serve another customer who arrived after us. This was already a frustrating experience, but it only got worse from there. When Janay finally turned his attention to us, he was extremely rude and dismissive. We clearly pointed out the cake that we wanted, but he kept asking us repeatedly what we wanted as if he was not listening to us. He was very impatient and made us feel like a burden, despite the fact that we were paying customers.
