The Border Table — Restaurant in Arcata

I hope to god this was just an off day. Apparently the cafe was understaffed. I understand this happens, but It this should’ve been communicated before to ordering as our meal took over an hour and a half to come out. The water pitcher was empty. Even the coffee took 20 minutes. Two tables who ordered after us got their food ahead of us. We switched our meal to a to go order, and when it came out it was cold and was also missing food. We pointed this out the person working did not believe us and insisted on checking the ticket. While she was checking the ticket another person came back to return their incorrect order as well. Waste of a morning. I hope management works on hiring more reliable staff. To be fair, everyone who was there was working though on a day like this I personally would’ve been working more quickly. While they were likely disorganized as a result of stress, I don’t blame the workers as being understaffed can cause a lot of issues but there were too many mistakes for this to simply be due to a no show. This place is SO GOOD! Iordered the Classic Sandy, egg over- medium. Perfect sandwich. The staff is wonderful and sweet. Family owned. Cute quiet place to eat inside, outside, shade, no shade. I am thoroughly happy we found it! Will probably come again this weekend...
