Read more‘Villa’ is a quaint little Mexican food restaurant in an older plaza on the NE corner of Ina & Shannon roads. It is easy to overlook, but deserves a visit from everyone who loves great Mexican cuisine. The food is excellent, including the chips and the salsa (both of those being this good are hard to come by) which are both made on site. The salsa is so flavorful that we requested 3 refills over dinner, and noticed other patrons asking for more as well. This was a high point for us; excellent salsa is hard to come by out there! The refried beans are very tasty, and the rice fluffy and liked by all in our group. These basics are important, and speak well of the care that goes into their menu. The enchiladas were excellent, the chile relleno very good (better without the enchilada sauce on top). The carne asada was a bit over-salted but still very tasty. The margaritas are well put together there as well and pretty good. The decor and wall art are an attractive mix of Sonoran art and deeper south depictions, and the tables are not crammed together as they are at some other places. Prices? Very reasonable for the quality of their food, beverages and service. If you haven’t been to Villa, you are missing out. Thank you Villa staff for such a high quality and pleasant...
Read morePositives: -staff was nice
negatives (from least to most irritating): food was subpar, have had drive-through Mexican taste better. -expensive. you can order the same things for less money at many spots -was charged for extras without being informed that would happen. (was charged for extra cheese I didn't realize I was ordering. Was aked " do you want cheese on your burrito", without being told it would cost extra, then got charged extra. Cheese was put on the side lettuce, not the burro.) credit card usage additional charge, again without being informed it would happen. (would've paid in cash) i ordered a Chile Relleno burro that just came with some chilis (still with seeds and stems) wrapped in a tortilla with a tiny bit of beans just to hold the tortilla together. no cheese, vegetables, or anything else. -when I ordered a carne asada and a California burrito (happened for both of these), I was asked what i wanted in it. (i had to list every ingredient that would go in.) Ive never been to a mexican restaurant that had no idea what to put into a carne asada burro. carne asada was overcooked and inedible, as if it had been. Boiled to rubber. Defently not cooked on a grill. (Carne Asada litterally means beef...
