After years away from my hometown, I returned to discover a sprawling, upgraded community that made me feel like a tourist in my own backyard. Reconnecting with high school friends was top priority, and they enthusiastically suggested Kabobistan—a Middle Eastern gem just down the street from my old stomping grounds. I was intrigued, especially when they hyped up a $60 breakfast meal deal.

Now, as someone in winter bulking mode, $60 for breakfast sounded like a snack. "Sure," I thought, "I'll probably need a post-breakfast breakfast." Oh, how gloriously wrong I was.

Enter: The Ottoman Breakfast.

One rainy day, my little brother and I ordered 5 chicken kabobs online. It was a very stressful day for my family and I and we just wanted to eat something good and filling. We walked to the location as it is near our home. Once we reached the location, we were told by the owner I accidentally ordered in their Annandale location. We were sad and stressed out because I did not have a car and no way to drive there. We were really hungry, and I thought I just wasted my 50$ worth of food and money. My brother was also very sad but the owner has a very kind heart. My brother looked like he was going to cry, pointing at the different things on the menu, but then I just decided to leave. As we were heading out, the owner called us back. My brother noticed and pulled my hand and dragged me back to the restaurant. We went there and he told us he would accommodate for us especially for my little brother. It was so nice of him and I am grateful for his kindness and gesture. For him to tell his kitchen staff to cook up the chicken, made me so happy. And he made fresh food for us and let us take our meals home free of additional charge. God bless this restaurant! We will definitely be back and eat here more often. The food was so fresh, and he cooked it in front of us. Delicious food, excellent customer service, friendly people.
