Oh my gosh, I’m very disappointed!!! First, I ordered the oxtails because it stated it came with butter beans. Most places today do not add the traditional butter beans to the recipe. I was thrilled to see that. However it was delivered with no butter beans, instead they added a lot of pinto beans. It was disgusting. I think if they run out of butter beans they should just not add anything. It just disrupts the true taste you’re expecting. Second, there were only five pieces of oxtails. It wasn’t in a full container that you could just eat out of. You’ll need to use a plate and put everything together. Take note they don’t send you a dinner plate. Third, the oxtail had a very long lasting aftertaste , like they added a huge amount of nutmeg, cinnamon or something of the like. The aftertaste was very strong. So, you must be home to order because you’ll need a dinner plate. Next, the taste is very nasty and there a very small portion of very fatty hardly any meat oxtails. The rice and peas is NOT TRADITIONAL. It DOES NOT TASTE like yummy Jamaican food. Also, they change up the taste with adding any can of beans. I suggest calling to ensure the food is how it’s stated, I suggest going to the restaurant were you can sit down with knife, fork and plate. I order on uber eats and used a coupon so at least I didn’t pay an arm and a leg for disappointing food. Ultimately there’s a lot you’ll have to do to make sure your satisfied so you might also just want to order from another restaurant...
Read moreI came here for dinner with a friend the other night -- he had the Lamb Kadai and I got the Combo #2 (Kabob - 3 pieces of Chicken and 3 pieces of Lamb). The food was very good - my lamb and chicken were especially well seasoned and not overcooked (which happens often at the local Kabob spots) though I think the chickpeas really stole the show for me. Not sure what was in the sauce but it encouraged me to make a few makeshift "wraps" with the naan bread, chickpeas, rice, and one of the protein accompaniments.
In all honesty I seriously considered giving this place 4 stars (the food was def upper echelon and I will return, but 5 stars on food alone for a quick eatery means it's really special in my book) but the friendliness of the two guys working pushed it over the edge for me. They were both very jovial (I think one of them came over 3 times throughout the meal just to check to see if we needed anything else -- and to be fair, I was eating with a good friend so we were chopping it up for a while and ate pretty slowly).
All in all just a good experience. I think we may have found a new post-tennis...
Read moreIf you look in the urban dictionary for great “hole in the wall restaurant,” this is it! My wife and I just moved to the area and honestly have not found many restaurants that we would go back to. Family kebob our new go to for Indian.
This is a small place with a few table and chairs and a small parking lot (free). The employees are extremely nice, talkative, and provided excellent service. The food was made to order and piping hot and fresh.
My wife and I had: lamb kebob, lamb curry, and a side of their spinach. The spinach was amazing. I like that it is tasty but doesn’t have cream, which is typical. Very good.
The lamb kebob is a huge serving and was the best dish there that we had. Followed by the lamb curry, which was also top-notch. I also liked their chickpea casserole. I would give the food a 10 out of 10.
I would recommend maybe sprucing up the inside a little bit so that it would be more accommodating to people eating in, but this is definitely our go to moving forward and great for takeout.
We paid about 47 bucks with a tip and had significantly leftovers. Great value! We...
