My friend and I enjoyed a wonderful meal here today. We selected two burrito bowls covered in tasty toppings and did not regret our decision. The white rice in particular was not good; it was succulent. At one point I remarked to my companion, “Wow this white rice is really good,” and he replied, “Yeah wow you’re right.” I suggested it was because the grains contained plentiful butter and salt, whereupon he noted the rice’s striking freshness and fluffy mouthfeel. I concurred and suggested we perhaps re-approach the cooks and inquire about the elevated cooking procedures and seasoning techniques that no doubt contributed to the superlative dish. My friend seemed to seriously consider the notion before sheepishly returning to his meal. Whether that was due to an outright dismissal of the idea or his characteristic shyness I am not sure, since I failed to ask him, due to, again, my being so dialed into the white rice. At that point I proceeded to scoop some more rice onto my fork, being careful not to scoop TOO much because I wanted to achieve the proper balance of rice and meat in my bite. I’m happy to report that the bite was well executed and that I was able to place it into my mouth and enjoy chewing it. You know how sometimes when you eat fast casual food you instinctively wonder whether you should add some salt and/or pepper from a packet or shaker but you end up not doing it either because the condiment vessel is too far out of reach or maybe the facility doesn’t offer such a vessel to its patrons for some bizarre reason? This was not one of those times. Again, because the white rice was already so tasty.
I’d like to continue discussing the white rice, and I’m happy to do so if you’d like, but for now I will say that the meats presented to us were also quite delicious. The carne asada was glistening like sun-dappled melons in its metallic tray, and the chicken looked tantalizing as well. So much so, in fact, that my companion opted to order “half-chicken, half-carne,” as he phrased it. Ordering next, I pondered following suit, but ultimately decided to stick with just one kind of meat (the aforementioned carne asada) due to a long history of gastrointestinal complications. As you can imagine the result was scrumptious, to say the least, since the meat’s juices blended mellifluously with the mystic wonders of the white rice. After the first bite I thought about the cow who gave his/her/their life for this dish, and while the circumstances of his/her/their demise may or may not have elicited ethical concerns (depending on many factors) from the discerning consumer, I couldn’t help wondering whether, if he/she/they were alive today, he/she/they would no doubt harbor considerable pride for the sheer deliciousness seeping from those meat hunks.
I would be remiss not to mention the pleasant atmosphere filling the facility with good cheer. The space was not overly crowded, no doubt owing to the somewhat late hour in which we dined, and the Latin music in the air lent a unique cultural flair to the experience. I noted “A Buena Vista” by Soneros de Verdad being played at one point, a delightful number no matter one’s musical inclinations. My companion and I engaged in pleasant conversation (primarily centered on rice matters) amidst a cohort of jolly fellows and ladyfolk who were no doubt similarly consumed by epicurean...
Read moreI truly cannot believe this store is still open. I’ve been ordering from this location for over a year and I would say about 80% of the time I am disappointed with what is delivered. I placed a delivery order and received barely any chicken in the bowl and like EXTRA EXTRA rice. Like what gives? I had complained on the app about the over portion of rice and then I ordered again at a later day and they gave me like barely any rice. It seems to me as some passive aggressive tactic. But honestly I am not even sure if that’s the case and this store just doesn’t care about the quality of the food. I’ve thrown out so many orders without asking for a refund or anything because getting in contact with customer support seems to be difficult. The only reason I still order from them is because I am hoping it’ll be okay. The thing is, when I visit in-store the food tastes fine and is made in the normal portions I am accustom to. Which is why I gave 2 stars. I don’t like writing reviews like this on google, it’s not my style, but I am actually now concerned for food safety. In my mind I would think someone in upper management would check on these things, no? And has a health inspector checked this store too? The fajita is always weirdly soggy and tastes like it’s been just cooked weeks ago and reheated for the purpose of saving time. In my bowl I can see the cilantro is wilted, I’m sure it could just be the moisture from other food products but why can I see big chucks of cilantro? This should have been chopped up into the food. I know we can see them “cook” food in the back, but I’m under the impression they are def cutting corners and probably service the really poor quality stuff for delivery orders because they can get away with it. Like we all know what chipotle used to be and they cared about the quality and some stores still do. But this one clearly does not care what they send out the door. Please to management that’s looking at this comment, may you please check on this store and really give it a good review and have an honest conversation with your staff about food quality? Unless it’s from management direction to send out poor quality food, under portion protein and over...
Read more6/18/25 @ 7:45pm Now the food? All of it, really? I haven’t been to this location in a year and I see why! Initially I decided not to post publicly trying to give this location a chance. I submitted a survey feedback form on my receipt because the food was extremely salty—like mouth-puckering salty—on both of my orders! I think it was the brown rice.
I submitted the survey and about 10 mins. later I decided to eat the chips and salsa…now this is what prompted another public review, the chips are stale!!! I’m officially done with this location. My husband even said, “Told you not to go to that one.”… ugh. My entire $45 order is in the trash, never again. ——————— 6/18/24@8pm Cashier was very friendly to the customer in front of us. When my husband walked up she made no eye contact, no conversation, just stood there with a “Can I help you?” look. Handed him the bag and walked off. Asked her for a condiment, she rolled her eyes, whispered to her coworker in Spanish who started to stare at us as they were talking, aggressively threw her gloves down, handed us the condiments and walked away again.
If I experience this level of service at this location again, I will be reporting her to corporate and find another location to go to.
I’m starting to notice that some cashiers have less respect for people when you’re picking up orders, assuming that everyone is a delivery driver so they don’t have to provide proper customer service or she just didn’t like us…that’s the only thing that can justify the fact that you were just being kind to the customer in...
