After seeing many good reviews we were excited to try this new local spot and they had buffalo cauliflower on the menu so I was very excited, however, we were not impressed. We got a table in the bar area quickly but waited and waited for our waitress. When she did come she was unfriendly. She had the attitude and tone that we were bothering her. We ordered drinks- 2 waters and a soda, and got them pretty quickly. The. We waited and waited for her to come back to order. When she did, again very short and unfriendly. Not even a remote smile. We ordered- buffalo cauliflower and fried pickles as appetizers. A StL beef sandwich with fries, mushroom and Swiss burger w/ beef barley soup, and chicken piccata which came with a salad and side of white pasta. The cauliflower and fried pickles arrived hot, fresh, and were hand breaded which I appreciate, but without plates it was difficult to eat them. I had to find our waitress after waiting about 5 minutes to ask for appetizer plates. Once we were able we really enjoyed them. Then there was a bit of commotion with the table next to us bc she mixed up the table numbers and rang in the food under the wrong table. Their food was coming to our table and our bill went to them before we were even done. The other customer handed us our bill. These things happen, but still no apology or smile at all. Our food stoves and the food runner was friendly and got us refills while our waitress was MIA. The burger was good- thick and juicy. The soup had good flavor, but lacked substance that typically comes with beef and barley soup. It was mostly broth. My roast beef and provel sandwich was bland and the au jus was like a spicy oil. The chicken piccata was unlike any chicken piccata I have ever seen or had- it lacked that piccata lemon flavor, and was sitting in more of an olive oil than a sauce. The white pasta on the side looked great, but the cream sauce tasted like jarred alfredo. The salad looked great and was a good size for a dinner salad, but it arrived with the entrees so it wasn’t eaten. Maybe in a few months we will try it again because the pizza and wings looked good as they passed by and I did like the cauliflower, but tonight was a huge waste of money and...
Read moreOur first visit to Nowhere Food and Drink Co. We were quickly greeted and seated at a table. Our server quickly arrived to get our drinks. Sadly no sweet tea, not the end of the world, nor is that a deal breaker on a restaurant. Besides, if you can't brew fresh tea, I rather one not have it on the menu. Food came out in a timely manner which is always good when they seem to have been very busy. We arrived at the end of early rush hour. Our sandwiches came with sides which maybe we missed it on the menu but that was a pleasant surprise. I deleted one star only because the music was a tad loud. Good tunes. Don't get me wrong. I liked the 🎶 but when people are trying to have dinner conversations everyone has to talk over the music. Since a poor boy sandwich was on the menu I thought I'll give it a try. I always give an establishment one shrimp poor try .. but I normally am not expecting much. It's hard to compare to a shrimp poor boy from down in the Gulf or on East Coast. I was pleasantly surprised. A little bit of sweet with a little bit of heat. Shrimp was not overcooked nor was the breading that hard, thick breading that's twice the thickness of the shrimp. All in all it was great. The other sandwich I believe was called youngman? But don't hold me 100% to that name. Pastrami with shaved Italian beef swiss cheese on marble rye. The proportions made for a tasty sandwich. I'm not a fan of pasta salads but I dipped my fork into my husband's salad. I personally could order that myself. That's how good it is. The pasta salad packs a lot of flavor without a lot of heavy sauce. They also have daily plate specials. I didn't check the time. I don't know if that's in the evening or not. Just...
Read moreAfter a year apart, my friend and I finally reunited and decided to go Nowhere. And no, that’s not a metaphor for our sense of direction. Turns out, “Nowhere” in Arnold is actually somewhere pretty great. The hostess asked which side we wanted to sit on dining or bar, but I’m convinced she already knew what kind of night we needed. She sat us on the bar side, surrounded by TVs playing every sport imaginable, where the beer was cold, the crowd was lively, and the vibe was just right. We were ready for a low-key night of catching up over pizza, salads, and a roast beef sandwich that honestly deserved an encore. Then came the twist, Thursday is Bingo Night. Suddenly, our calm little reunion turned into a full-blown comedy show. Between bites and sips, we found ourselves leaning in, squinting at our cards like two rookies who forgot how to listen. “Did he just call B-15?” “Nope… not even close.” (Cue us laughing like we just aged a decade in one round.) The food was fantastic, the beers stayed cold, and the service was spot-on. Our waitress deserves a medal for keeping up with our chatter and our confused bingo panic. I didn’t win a single thing (clearly rigged), but my friend won a gift card which means these two are absolutely coming back to Nowhere for a rematch. If you want great food, cold beer, friendly service, and the kind of night where you laugh until your face hurts, head to Nowhere. You’ll leave full, happy, and wondering why you don’t spend more time Nowhere. So if you ask me The Best Place to Go When You Don’t Know Where to...
