I left my original review at the bottom but have now changed my rating to one star (minimum) and will never return as a customer. I came in Saturday morning and waited in line for two doughnuts. When I walked in there was a couple working with an employee on ordering a wedding cake. While I was standing there I immediately picked up on how rude the employee was being to this couple (not to mention why they were still there). There were still a few people in front of me ordering but I was in back of the line by the cakes when Grace, the employee who was so rude to the earlier mentioned couple, came around and asked if she could help me. I said I needed 'two doughnuts. One chocolate longjohn and a chocolate lognjohn with sprinkles'. She walked away from me before I finished saying the first chocolate long John. Because I was so far back from the doughnuts I could not see what was up there or what she was doing. I paid for my bag and went to the car to find a chocolate long John and a completely different doughnut than what I ordered. When I went back in she told me she didn't have any with sprinkles.
First of all) why didn't she say this to me 2nd) why would this hateful woman think to just give me whatever the hell she pleased and why would she think I would just be happy with whatever I got if I asked for something specific and paid for that item. 3rd) she never mentioned this
She ripped - YES, GRABBED AND RIPPED THE BAG OF DOUGHNUTS FROM MY HAND. Look, I don't know what type of hoosier unmanned household you are raised in to believe this is acceptable behavior in any setting but this woman, GRACE, is a witch. She then went in back and complained to the other employees as she corrected the order she messed up intentionally. Yes, another employee confirmed this. She then starts running her ignorant mouth about just how busy this small time low on the list bakery shop is. BULL. There were five people in there.
Grace needs to go. I stop in her 2-3x a week for different Bible study, school and works events. This incompetent, homely nut job needs to go somewhere where there is a sign plainly posted on the door 'PROCEED WITH CAUTION- UNSTABLE LOONATIC ON THE LOOSE'. I will never be back. There are three other shops within two miles.
Flawlessly decorated treats! Delicious options. I have loved everything we have tried and I am NOT a sweet treat eater AT ALL! Clean. Adorable fun stuff! I'm a newer customer and love stopping in. They have everything under the sun! The staff is friendly (the blonde girl w/ glasses and a purple streak in her hair isn't very nice but I won't hold it against...
Read moreI love this place but man their expensive. Not only that but I had 3 different people tell me 3 different things about how to preserve my cake until my daughters birthday. I however finally did get with the actual cake maker (you have to see her by appointment only) and she made everything clear to me! So I was thankful for that!! For a 2 tier cake, is when you HAVE to make an appointment to go in & see her. One tired cakes you can go in & give them whatever your order is you want done. But let’s just say I paid a lot for a cake that won’t even have any decorations on it. Just plain black because it’s going to be a glow in the dark/UV black light cake & NO ONE around me will make a cake like that because they all say it’s too expensive & they don’t get enough orders for them to buy the stuff to do them. So I ordered all the stuff myself to decorate it but I just needed a basic 2 tired cake in all black & it was still quite expensive!! Now with that in mind, I still do love this place. My gma has been going here for 40+ years & they make special cookies everyday! You can go in & buy individual cookies ($1.50 or more per cookie). Like on st.pattys day they had cookies just for that holiday so I grabbed some for my girls. I love this place & do recommend them but just be ready to pay if you get a 2 tired cake. (When I get the cake I’ll edit my review & show pic of it) but here is some of the other cookies I’ve gotten...
Read moreI went in and purchased a frozen BLACK FOREST cake. Everybody knows BLACK FOREST CAKES are CHERRY.
When I got home, I noticed there were 2 stickers on the lid--black forest, with a picture of a cherry on the sticker and a sticker that read STRAWBERRY.
I called to ask why my black forest cake, which is always notoriously CHERRY has a sticker that says strawberry. She said they also make strawberry black forest cakes. OK, so I told her that black forest cakes are not strawberry and I want to switch it out. She told me I had to buy a new cake and they won't let me return a cake I bought 10 minutes prior.
If they want to make strawberry filled chocolate cakes, so be it, but they shouldn't put a BLACK FOREST STICKER with a picture of a cherry on it if they are selling them as strawberry filled, non-black forest cakes.
Deceiving. No customer service. No store credit, no discount, no free cake, just an order to tell me to buy another cake. I will not be spending $52+ tax on 2 cakes for 3 people to eat. NOPE. They are probably dry anyway. The last cake I had from there was super dry and had 10 lbs of icing on it. I only bought this cake there because it was a request.
Hey Harters, FYI: REAL BLACK FOREST CAKES are ALWAYS CHERRY. Don't put a black forest sticker on the cake (with a picture of a CHERRY on it) if it is not an authentic CHERRY...
