Response to the owner: My review is not meant to be mean-spirited. It's just the facts of how our experience played out. My family and I didn't like the pizza, so we eco-friendlied a lot of it to our furry companions. I suppose my review isn't fair though, because the dogs did like the pizza, so I'll bump this up to 3 stars because they should have a say, too.

BTW... I ordered through grubhub and it said pizza would be ready in 45min. It was likely ready in 20 because I got there 15 min early and it was only slightly warm (underbaking didn't help). Check the order times, grubhub estimated time, and transaction receipt and you'll see I'm not exaggerating. Grubhub to blame but that should be remedied.

This place isn't for us but much of Arvada seems to like it, so I'm sure it'll do just fine.

Original review (1 star): I was so excited to try this place based on reviews and I'm so disappointed. I got there 15min before my order was supposed to be ready because I don't like cold pizza. Even getting there that early, my pizzas had been sitting a bit. They also both were blonde and under done.

My son and husband said the cheese pizza was way too salty. My husband puts salt on everything so if it's too salty for him, that's saying something. Daughter didn't like the cheese pizza either and she never walks away from a slice.

I like the flavor of the fig pizza, but again, it seemed under done. Maybe if it had been fully cooked it would have been quite tasty.

$53 for two mediums and a family that has no interest in eating any of it. The dogs made out like bandits tonight. So bummed.

This placed moved to the suburbs, so we thought we’d check it out. I also checked the reviews and it seemed a little sub-par, but we’d give it a fair shot. I placed an order online, to which it said 45-65 minutes. Just like other reviews said, as soon as I placed the order, I got a text message saying, “we’re busier than usual, it’s actually 5-20 minutes longer.” Then, it told me I could check in on my pizza by downloading an app. The app then told me it would be done at that addition 20 minute mark, 85 minutes total. Excuse me what? Unacceptable. When I came in to pick up, I explained my frustration and was met with “we have no control of the timing online and that you could have called to find out a real time instead of ordering online.” Maybe you should look into the issue if multiple complain about it. The guy at the front desk was fine, but seemed unphased by our concern.

So we took the pizza to the car, and it was barely luke warm. It had clearly been sitting there, but the lovely app told me it would be not ready until that time.

The dough was chewy, the pizza was cold by the time we drove 5 minutes home…and truly sub par. I would not recommend this pizza even if we had a good time frame. Not to mention, expensive for this pizza that is of Sbarro quality. The toppings were minimal, sauce was minimal and cheese wasn’t plentiful.

We were so excited when we heard Benny Blanco's was opening a spot in Arvada. They took over the spot formerly occupied by Goomba's on Ralston which is, quite literally, a three minute drive from my house. We attended their open house party in June where slices were sampled out liberally and have ordered pies for pick-up a half-dozen time since. I am a NY pizza lover to the core and Benny's offers a solid NY slice. The pies are always cooked perfectly. The crust offers a great blend of crispy and chewy. The gravy/sauce is delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. They offer a nice variety of toppings and topping combos, but a simple slice of cheese or pepperoni hits the spot just right as well. The folks working at the shop are always very cool and kind, making for a fun and vibrant atmosphere - even if you're just in and out to take your pizza home. I have no photos to add because we always demolish the pies immediately - perhaps I'll update with photos next time I stop in for a slice. Stoked to have such a great NY pizza spot so close to home!
