VERY FRUSTRATING. This place should be called “all we think you should eat-hot pot”. My family and I made the decision to try this place last weekend. When we got there, it wasn’t very busy. We ordered our soup and meats. Each person is allowed 2 types a meat. There were 6 of us. Went to the bar to grab our sauces and seafoods. Our waitress came out with our meats. Our order was simple. 10 fatty beef and 2 fresh oysters. We received 6 fatty beef and 2 oysters. I then proceeded 5 minutes later to order more meat and our waitress said that the kitchen doesn’t like to give out too much because they’re afraid we wouldn’t finish. This is not our first hot pot rodeo. We’re foodies and try new places all the time. We know what we want and what we can handle. We assured her she didn’t need to worry about us not finishing. Considering we inhaled everything she brought out in less than 5 minutes, I thought she’d understand. We asked for 4 more fatty beef. She brought us 2. We played this game 5-6 times. I’d ask for 4, she’d bring 2. Portions were small And I was mad at this point. Keep in mind that when we ordered the oysters, each tray had 4 oysters. The fatty beef had about 7-8 small slices each tray. When we ordered our second round of oysters, the trays were coming out smaller with 2 oysters. My last and final attempt, I ordered one more tray of fatty beef thinking it was going to have 8 slices like before. NO… my last tray had 4 smalll slices. I have never seen such a greedy all you can eat place before. I’d rather pay for what I couldn’t finish. We paid for what we didn’t get to eat. Never again!!! I’d post pictures but as you can see, we didn’t really get anything. Who ever thinks this place was worth it, needs to go try the Hot Pot Spot in Thornton. It’s worth the drive and the meat isn’t the size of what you picked out of your teeth. And the waitress didn’t know what...
Read moreOne of the worst experienced I ever had. Saw them on instagram and suggested to family and friends. Recommend and took 20 people to have dinner. The service was bad and slow. Each plate of meat came with 5 pieces. Waitress told us we have to consume half of what we have on the table before ordering more. We wanted to order more so we didn't have to wait for our next round of meats but she said the system didn't allow it. We have had hot pot before, waitress walked by and told my wife not to put too much in her pot or it will overflow. Never had someone tell us how to cook and consume our food. I had my 7 year old and 3 year old with us. The menu says $12.99 for ages 4-11. They charged me adult price saying its because my 3 year old daughter was sharing a pot with my 7 year old. I told them its not right because my 3 year old doesn't eat much, why did the menu say price is for ages 4-11. She said because children 3 and under usually have their own food any child that eats their food will be charged regardless of age. Lets say they charged me two child's price for one pot will be $25.98, it will be still be less than an adult price of $27.99. Their reasoning is bad and poorly managed. Beside the service and price, the broth was bland and meat choices was limited. Manager ran out to my car asking us not to give bad review and offered discount for our next visit. Where were you when we are having this issue in the restaurant? We saw you tell the waitress what to say. We drove almost 2 hours to support a new business. Unfortunately, it will...
Read moreFrom a resident of this particular neighborhood for many years, I am very glad that Orion Hotpot came into existence. This particular strip has been dead, sleepy and in desperate need of revival. And some dining spots just didn't make it and sold their businesses. So when my husband and I went there yesterday on a Friday night, we were amazed at the crowd at the parking lot.
The restaurant was big, modern but authentically chinese, had a great buzz and I love their music selection. The staff are young, quick to attend, attentive and our server Jay was great at explaining and assisting. The wait time was not painfully long for a weekend, and sitting for 2. 20 minutes and we got a shared seat, and that was fine with us.
The broth was delicious! I recommend putting their dry and wet condiments to make your broth "your own". The meat was fresh and very tender. Some Karen over here on the reviews said the meat was not fresh, ignore that comment. It is really good and filling. The seafood was small but fresh! It's small cuz your pot is small. I love their clams, baby octopus, calamari and shrimp. It was not fishy at all, nice n sweet. I love how they have other Asian veggies, shoots and shrooms and tofu skin selection as well.
We were stuffed! For $30 per person? Heck yeah it's worth it and delicious!!! And I appreciate their warning about leftovers or it will be charged. Thanks for the heads up! Because some other places would just charged us without...
