Homegrown Tap & Dough — Restaurant in Arvada

Been here lots of times and there's always two things that are consistent. The food is excellent, but the service is AWFUL! Every single time I've been here no matter the day or time, the wait staff is always super slow, and I have to ask for everything! I just went there on Tuesday night around 5PM, and it was the worst experience yet. 10 mins for anyone to acknowledge us at the door despite only a quarter of the restaurant being full and there was no one else waiting. 15 mins for our waitress to come over and greet us, another 10 to get us water, another 30 minutes to get a glass of wine, another 25 mins for her to come over and take our order, and then the food took another 45 mins. I had to constantly ask the waitress numerous times for water, boxes, and more drinks, all of which she forgot and had to be reminded several times. Whatever we were waiting on took another 25 minutes. Half the time I couldn't find her and had to ask someone else. This is unacceptable for a Tuesday night when only a quarter of the restaurant was full. We spent 3.5 hours there to get 2 pizzas and 3 drinks!!! To be honest, there has never not been a time I've been here that the service was remotely good. I only come back because the food is good, but my patience if definitely wearing this with Tap and Dough. Not sure if this is because they hire very young waiters and they just don't care about their job, but the level of professionalism is ridiculous. The time before this (about 3 weeks ago), was just as bad. I came for lunch on a Thursday, and it took FOREVER for a completely different waitress to acknowledge us, take our order, and bring us what we wanted. She didn't once come by and ask if we wanted more drinks, which our party wanted, so that's more money you guys are missing out on. Again, had to flag down other wait staff to get help for water, boxes, etc. The whole thing took 2.5 hours for 2 pizzas and 3 drinks! For working folks that's hard if you only have an hour lunch break like me, so I won't be doing that again. Anyway, if you do go, don't expect your experience to be speedy. I wouldn't go again, neither recommend it. They did sit as right away. It's extremely COLD even with jacket 🧥!!! We sit on a bar near a room where screaming kid's were making our stay extremely stressful and unpleasant. They did not give any spot for jacket neither make as feel comfortable neither welcome. The server DIDN'T INTRODUCE herself,instead she acted like criminal detective and refuse to serve me a beer even I show her picture of my id. The server HAD ABSOLUTELY NO KNOWLEDGE OF wine, she didn't know what is red dry wine, neither had any basic knowledge of cocktails. They don't have any european beer, neither medium meld beer. The only beer is heavily fermented called artigine beer, they do offer very low quality beer like Coors for expensive prise. Over all the server was NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE neither about wine, neither about beers, neither had minimum manner of presenting the restaurant.

I ordered salad iceberg-which should have been made of cabbage, instead I was served roman lettuce with crutons, the lettuce was DRY and the dressing was really no flavor.. I ordered appetizer bread with some dip. The salad's were serve BEFORE THE APERIZER!!! The bread appetizer was served COLD and AGAIN it was NOT FRESH. THE SERVER WAS RUDE.

Overall it's THE WORSE RESTAURANT IN ARVADA. I don't understand the feedback here, neither I understand the star reviews. I can ONLY guess that village people go TO DRINK BEER. UNFORTUNATELY there wasn't even 1 thing that was fine.

My friend order kinoa salad, and it was AGAIN not good. Nothing on this restaurant deserve more than a 1 ⭐. I give it one star for the existence. I definitely feel discriminate NOT WELCOME , NOT VALUED but definitely Not happy with the food neither with the service. It pains me to write this review since we live near HT&D and have dined in quite frequently in the past, but seems like the last handful of visits its gotten progressively worse and worse. First it was getting a pie with a totally blackened crust, then a server that was completely inattentive, and our last visit which may be the straw that breaks the camel's back... Came here to catch the second half of the Nuggets playoff game and was disappointed to see they had college softball on the TVs, small gripe, sure, but I mean c'mon... let's not ignore that this IS sometimes a reason why people go to a bar. Then our server seemed completely annoyed to be serving us, I asked if she could change the TV near our section to the game and she curtly said "ok, but its gonna be a while." Then when my partner asked for a stout our server huffed "which one? They're all listed on the beer menu if you looked it up." My partner asked for a recommendation and the server said she didn't know. Again, don't expect the servers to know the whole beer menu, but we also could have done without the attitude. Finally, the food just isn't good these days. The mushroom fusilli was drenched in oil and lacked any sort of seasoning, the wings were dry and needed to be properly sauced, and the caesar salad looked like it had been left out since the night before and just re-served... lettuce was completely soggy, limp and had a strange taste to it. Management needs to take a serious look at what the kitchen is doing because I can deal with a bad server every now and then if the food is good, but right now.... the food just isn't IT. I'm hoping the quality of the food bounces back, but for now we'll be taking an extended time...
