Went there a few nights ago. Drinks were good, nice ambience, the staff was friendly. I would have given it 5 stars but I was just surprised how bad our food was in comparison to the quality of the drinks and everything else. My wife and I both got impossible burgers with GF buns, so I guess a little bit of a weird order, but it was probably the worst burger of any kind I've ever gotten in a sit down restaurant (and worse than a lot of fast food burgers I've had). Flavor was okay, but the bun was cold, and the cheese was completely unmelted—they literally just slapped a cold piece of a cheese onto a burger. I wish I took a photo because this is no exaggeration. The patty was the only warm thing on the burger, but because everything else was cold it quickly lost it's temp. I thought maybe they missed a step and it was supposed to go under the broiler or something , but the lettuce and mayo were on there so I don't think that's the case. Their impossible burger typically comes with Daiya (fake) cheese, but we asked to replace with the regular cheese, so maybe that was the issue? But that still doesn't explain why everything was cold. I mentioned the issue to the server and he offered to ask the kitchen if they'd make me another, which I probably should have done, but I was there to talk business so I didn't want to make it a big thing. And I used to work in the industry so I don't like to be the difficult customer. I still ate about 2/3 of it because I was hungry and the flavor was okay despite the temperature and textural issues, but I wish I had sent it back, because I forgot or hadn't noticed they were $26 a piece. I really would have rather had a Burger King impossible burger, not even taking the price difference into account. I'll probably go back at some point since I'm moving nearby. Certainly for the drinks, which again, were good. If I have the food again and it's better, I'll...
Read moreWe went there for 1 drink. We also bought a table of shots for a party celebrating a birthday. Bartenders were great. After spending $300 on the bar tab, where we each only had 1 drink, the Manager ended up being absolutely horrible. They have the tiki bar, we decided to go see. One person in our party pulled the door too hard and thought she broke it. The manager shamed her, but told her she was ok to go upstairs to the second bar. Once they got upstairs, after the bartender took our card to start a tab, the men with us were told that only the males in our party would be served with no good reason to why the rest of us could not be served. We decided to leave after that. We left and went to the bar across the street. The manager from the tavern ended up following us to the new bar to continue harassing us. We went over to see why she was following us. One in our party, recorded the manager from tavern because it was crazy that she followed us in the first place. None of us had drank enough to even be a problem. The manager from the tavern walked by us at the new bar and told us she was calling the police because we recorded her. The people who recorded her stayed at the bar and waited for the police. The rest of us left to get our Uber. Outside we were waiting for our Uber, the tavern manager was smiling and excited to have the cops talk to us, which the cops realized we were not drunk and let us leave. I would NEVER go back to tavern! With management like her! We literally all only had one drink and ended up getting trespassed because the manager didn’t like that we recorded how unprofessional she was. She was so rude and broad line crazy for...
Read moreWent there are two occasions while visiting family in Arvada. Fist time we went in they had just opened and it was nice cause there were only two other people there. We had the Mac and Cheese and it was amazing, You could tell it was home made. My wife had the pear salad with the pork belly on top and she said it was and OMG moment...The creme brulee was great it has ginger in it to give it a distinctive zip with the mildness of the vanilla...YES there were actual vanilla bean pieces in it too!... The next time (two days later) we took our son and his fiance,,,My wife and I had the chicken Schnitzel and is was very good. The ingredients were fresh and well cooked. My wife and Ihad some smoke and mirror cocktails as with the previous visit. They hand craft the ice cubes and the notes in each drinks are very deep. It's a great place to get a taste of the history of Arvada. The tavern has one of the oldest liquor licenses around and the inside of the building keeps that old charm. Our waitress Danielle?...Apparently there are two but ours was blonde and so attentive but not overly so. She made sure we were well taken care of and we asked for her the second time so we could introduce our other family members to her. She was very knowledgeable with the menu, cocktails, and parings as well. Over all a very nice experience. One thing we went back on a Weds. night and the place was packed and loud so either go just after opening (around 4-5 pm) or get reservations so you don't have to wait. Ask for Danielle and you will be well...
