The food is horrendous and diabolical. It's not the same as before anymore, when the food actually tasted decent. Now, the quality of this buffet has gone down drastically.
First of all, some of the fresh fruits are not even fresh at all. The pineapples and strawberries have a lot of bad ones mixed in with a very few good ones. My parents had a stomach ache literally not even 10 minutes after they ate fruit and was in the restroom for an hour! To my surprise, they both had diarrhea. I wonder how that happened? There was also a funny smell marinating from the steam table pans at some of the catering counters. The cheese oysters still have SAND in them, I noticed some people coughing a few times when eating those oysters. Some of the ice cream cups in the display freezer have their paper lids popped up, with some melted ice cream dirtying the other ice cream cups.
Not to mention, they do a terrible job at cleaning the silverware. My mom found some spoons, forks, and even knives to have food stains that looked like they were there for ages! The tables are shiny but sticky and the chairs have some torn leather in some areas. The whole place looks like a pig sty for real! There were food stains and spit wads on the walls which makes us question if the waiters/waitresses have ever cleaned the walls.
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. They would be cooked if they wished to complain to a waiter/waitress. The waiters and waitresses at this buffet are very cold and disrespectful, especially the masked girl with the long ponytail. I know Chinese, the staff didn’t know that since my family is part of a different ethnicity. Our waitress was cussing us out in Chinese right in front of me when I simply commented about how my parents felt sick after eating. She had the audacity to shoo me and my family off to the manager like we’re a bunch of animals!
We greatly believed that we should receive compensation for the pain my parents went through. As expected, we did get cash credit after speaking to the manager. However, we were only compensated 10% of the original price, even though there were 4 of us! 30% could’ve been more appropriate, but unfortunately, the manager was stingy. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if someone sues King Buffet.
I regret taking my dad out to this place to celebrate Father's Day. I thought I had picked out a good place to enjoy some authentic Asian cuisine. This buffet has brought dishonor and is making us Asians look bad.
My family and I are Asian, and that was our experience at this poor excuse of an...
Read moreI am always on the lookout for a decent buffet post-plague, and so far this may be the best that Ive been to. I was sat right away in a nice spot, everything looked pretty clean and tidy including my table, seating and the condiment rack was also well kept and nothing felt sticky or neglected.
Ordered my drink and headed off to scout the offerings. Plates and utensils were well stocked and right off the bat I saw they had spare ribs which is somehow hit or miss to find at a chinese buffet, usually miss which is very strange. They had that unmistakeable bright red color and glossy, sticky texture so I had to go for two. got some fried rice, beef and broccoli and what seemed similar to a bourgon chicken, along with an egg roll. first plate went fast, everything was delicious and the rib meat was just what i was expecting in taste and was just about coming off the bone, not too fatty or overcooked.
I decieded to try the mongolian grill, some fresh veggies and sliced beef, some teriyaki sauce, and off it went onto the flattop. a few minutes later it was ready to go, and I decided to get another plate while i was up and did an instant replay of my first plate. There was a fresh load of ribs that were even better and bigger, so I just grabbed one this time, just as good if not better since they just came out. two more plates down and after a short breather i went for dessert.
some almond cookies which i always love to have, a slice of cake, of course a few hits at the chocolate fountain and a small swirl cone for the walkout. Dessert was great, the soft ice cream may have been a little overchilled but after letting it sit it was just perfect. the server was friendly and quick to refill my drink and clear plates, and wasnt pushy at all when it came time to pay which was surprising.
great service, incredible food at a great price, ill...
Read moreService: 4.5/5 The service was great. We arrived at about 1 PM for lunch. We were seated immediately. Waiters refilled our glasses even if they weren't completely empty, and took our plates. However, Waiters will often stare at you while you eat and write on a notepad after about half hour.
Price: 4/5 The buffet costs 15 dollars per person plus 3.50 per drink. Some may complain but it's really a bargain if you consider the all you can eat sushi and other seafood.
Food: 3/5 Most of the food was delicious. The chicken and sushi was my favorite. You get to watch them make sushi and Mongolian food. However, the fish at the buffet (salmon and "white fish") was too soggy and tasted old. Additionally, the Wasabi for the sushi was too spicy (even a small drop burned my mouth, which is unusual for Wasabi) and the pickled ginger was brown and slimy. The desserts were store bought and the ice cream tasted like frozen milk.
Cleanliness: 2/5 The staff often put food that was on the counter at the buffet back in the designated dishes. There was food residue on the shades and walls.
Atmosphere: 3/5 Most of the decor was either at the front or on the walls on the other end of the restaurant. It's better than nothing, but they could have added more.
Overall: 16.5/25 (66%) Summary: This is a good restaurant to go to once in a while. I'm afraid that people will get food poisoning or a bacterial infection from this place if they go too often. You can really get your money's worth here, which is hard to achieve for a buffet. It's expensive at first but you will find it's worth it if you ignore the richer foods. If you spend more time absorbing your surroundings than eating then this isn't the right place for you. The chocolate fountain is the only dessert that's worth...
